Could it be because...
She simply believes that attention is another form of being loved...
-and with that attention, she feels that everyone actually loves her instead of thinking of her as a Vain Bitch?
-and Getting Benjamin's attention, would mean his love and affection?
-could it be, that all she really wanted was to get Closer with Benjamin?
-could it be that she's jealous of Lenina for having a (platonic/friendly) relationship with Benjamin, and she tries to get more attention because of that?
(can I just call him "Ben" for short?)
-or maybe she really IS a Vain Bitch.
