First, you'll have to get your pictures hosted somewhere. Normally this is a site you create or a friend's site that permit off-site linking.
For the side picture (Avatar), go to the Profile tab above and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Enter the URL of your picture in the text box (example: http://www.site.com/avatar.jpg)
For your bottom picture (Signature), back to the Profile tab, and scroll to the Signature area. You'll have to add HTML or BBCode in order for the picture to show up. (example:![[Image: signature.jpg]](http://www.site.com/signature.jpg)
