Cowboy? Ok im going to take offense to that. I may come from Texas, I may be a bit country, and I sure as hell am a bit Redneck.
But i dont do crap with cattle, i dont pretend to be a cowboy. I especially dont want any part of that shit-kicker trend that has been going on over the last 15-20 years.
I get tired of the bullshit I hear.
As for why people want there to be limits on television; Perhaps because they realize that they cannot completely mold and shape their children as they wish, because they realize that they cannot be always with their children. I as a sensible being, wish to raise children intelligent enough to ignore the mindless blather of our society and the ingnorant rantings of extremists; I sure as hell dont want my children to grow up thinking that certain things are now socially acceptible are by any means right in the area of morals.
Morals vs. Ethics? go take sociology. Both Ethics and Morals are LEARNED, morals are the basic ideals of right and wrong, Ethics is the specific application of morals.
Call me backwater if you want, but I personally dont give a damn if some gay couple is happy being gay; as long as some gay person doesnt set it in my lap. I am the kind of person that believes some things should be done in privacy and never in public, and I tend to apply those to whoever you are. Back to what I held on about the issue of Gay marraiges, they are tax evasion... nothing but Tax Evasion. A heterosexual marraige most of the time produces children which are the future of our society, homosexual relations go agains the VERY baseline instincts of every animal on earth. Humans live to dominate, learn, and reproduce.
And if anyone tries to pull the bullshit about homosexual relations being ok in Christian religon; Sodom and Gommora ladies and gents.
To the issue at hand, Sarky get off your own cynicism spiel. I could care less, the problem with what happened was is it was a premeditated breach of FCC regulations. You know why the US government has the right to censor public broadcasts? Because it is difficult to limit who sees them. Subscription channels can limit their audience, porn magazines can be controlled in sale, the same goes for video tapes.
Massively broadcast TV and Radio signals cannot easily be controlled, so censure is allowed to affect these mediums. whether you agree with it or not, that is the way the MAJORITY of americans want it. Last I checked we are still majority Rule, with minority rights.
Now to the 'Zero Coping Skills' well deary, deal with it. So people will be outraged when they see something they seriously disagree with, that is a NORMAL reaction. It is the ingrained bullshit of society to ignore and accept what we dont agree with, i say fuck that - if something bothers you that bad tell the person responsible, if they have any respect for their fellow human beings they will most likely stop.
Coping is very bad thing to me, if you just sit back and pretend nothing bothers you, you will become complacent and worthless. Stand up for your beliefs, rights, and social views; whatever ideas those may be. We are Fucking Americans, we have the right to say or think what we want, as long as what we say doesnt strip someone esle of their rights.
