Yes, forums at small (like this) have mostly switched to social media and the like but a lot haven't. You can still find a lot of small places that still work. It can be kind of weird. But this is also a porn site so it's more niche then normal. There are some sites like that with forums. Often times they do stuff like make games or offer games or stuff. And some chan-like sites still work like that. And despite it maybe not being a good idea, Boorus do have comments. Plus things never got back on track here after Tamers anyway. Then things stopped after Frontier. So that's why. Kind of sad but things happen.
Now what's wrong with places like Tumblr? A lot but you'll notice that a lot of their business went down after they banned porn. But this is all people who hate women who hate porn. Because look at Only Fans. You know how much money they make? Just by flashing bobs or vagine. It's a very easy model and can be what they call "Body Positive." There's a person for every type. Which is what these fake activist/feminist types say they like but only on their terms. Of course some of these from Tumblr are "fujoshi". Or "Rotten Women".
