I believe that there should be an introductory scene before the actual sex, like a loading screen before playing a game. The protagonist and lover would start in a situation together that would realistically end in their fornification of each other. This setting would establish a mood to connect the emotions of said characters, connect the readers, and connect the story together as a whole.
Sometimes the setting and scene could contradict the realism your lemon scene would take place, but it could be used as a 'loading scene' towards it.
Both a mix of dialogue and action suits me fine, as far as there's no watering down with exaggerated devices.
