Let's look at Xbox 360, first you have to buy the console, then you have to buy all the nessecary acessories you want, controllers, LIVE costs you monthly, most likely a wireless router, HDMI cable, etc.


That's quite a lot of money you're pissing away claiming it being cheaper when you're only sparing few hundred dollars and ending up getting a worse system. If you don't know how to "set up pc" how do you know how to set up anything? All you have to do is put the power cord, monitor, etc, the same stuff you'd have to do with the console too.

If you don't have a HDTV, you can add that to the bill as well because getting either of the consoles without one is pretty much pointless anyway.

And add in the whole fact of 360 and PS 3 being outdated already next year (Along with your fancy new HDTV too) when we'll get the 3 D games and movies regulary to PC. There's already now tons of games that support 3 D on computer and more are made. Full length movies supporting the 3 D are also on the way.

If you still want to get 360 or PS 3 just because you don't want to go through any effort at all just to enjoy better quality games, you have no right to ever call yourself a gamer.



PC's don't require you to configure your computer any more than consoles for you to play a game, unless you play a really old game on a new pc. PC comes with a bonus of no red rings and they last much longer.


My friend got a PS 3 few month ago and it broke a while ago. He regrets ever buying one, because with the money and time spent fighting to make the console work, he could have the latest hi tech computer and he knows it.

I implied it could be cheaper. It isn't always.

You say it's cheaper to buy a $1000 computer, that's for 1 person to play. I can get my 360 (the Elite model, $400) which comes with HDMI cables, and one controller, hard drive, ethernet port (all you really need to hook up to the internet, they even give you the ethernet cable but add $100 if you wanna hook it up wireless). Then I can get games (games cost whether console or PC, unless you're downloading them illegally), and extra controllers if need be. For $600 I can get the console, 2 games, a year of Xbox Live and an extra controller. That's $600 for two people to play on one system, $700 for four people to play on one system. At $1000 you still have one person playing on your one system (and no game yet unless you illegally download one, plus monthly costs if you play a game that has a subscription fee), and I have $300 more for games or whatever...unless the games you play only come out on PC you'll get a quality product, guarenteed to be compatible. Whether you play online or not, its nice to have those extra spots for friends.

Also, if you think PS3 and 360 are going to be outdated because of tech upgrades like 3d that are coming out...well that's just ignorant. Any 3d news I've heard promotes conversion software which can make most games 3d. Conversions of movies, games, etc. it's not going to happen just on PC, it'll come to consoles, dvds, any where they can fit it.

And by the way my setup comment wasn't about plugging the computer in. It was about configuring the drivers, etc. as is potentially needed, not that it will have to happen a lot or even at all, but that the potential to change a system parameter based on a certain game is not unlikely. No matter what 360 game I buy, now or two years from now, it will play. Whose to say the game on PC that wants to be just a bit better dosen't require you to buy a new graphics card? In fact that 3D link you posted says the 3D upgrade is $200, for one upgrade, but then when the next version comes out, how much will that cost? New technology will drop on 3D tech every year for a couple in a row, who is to say that card you invest in will be enough to power the game you want a year later? I'd much rather plan for a console change when I'm ready for one, than decide which game is worth getting an upgraded PC for.

As for a PC not getting a red ring...well I've seen the blue screen of death plenty on a PC.

We've had this debate before. I respect that you like PCs, but they certainly do not have the everything everyone is looking for. They are your preference, and some things you say are true about the advantages to them. But consoles have their own benefits and it's just neglegent to acknowledge them based on a console prejudice.
