I always kept a little pen that recorded messages in my pocket and secret to everybody else that I knew, except the principal. I'd have somebody ask me things like 'Wanna get a smoke after school?' and I'd pretend I wasn't listening or such, then record it when they repeated the question. Instant detention.
Of course, if it was something harmless ('Want to [insert mischievous activity here] after school?'), I'd say nothing, but I've seen what smoking and drinking can do to people.
