To quote Tourettes Guy, "Oh FUCK!"

It's to be expected, though. Pokemon is a giant that cannot be stopped.

How many of you here are planning on getting it?

RE: Pokemon Generation V announced - Guilmon and a shotgun - 02-19-2010

I only liked the original games, they were cheesey, fun and bizzarely satisfying.

RE: Pokemon Generation V announced - Crimson Fox - 02-19-2010

I intend on getting Soul Silver for nostalgia, but I have no interest in this new set of games being made for this new generation. It's just become too formulaic for my tastes. It's a fun and addictive formula, but I want something different. Maybe a fully 3D Pokemon game on the Wii that isn't just Colosseum, but is a full fledged world would give it some much needed innovation. I mean, you could trade Pokemon with the online features of the Wii, I don't see what the hell they don't make one for the system.

That evil fox pokemon they were showing off for the fifth generation looks cool though.

Of course I will. And of course, there is porn of it already. Just a little bit after it was announced I think.

RE: Pokemon Generation V announced - Crimson Fox - 02-21-2010

*chuckles* I can believe it, no one can stop the internet.

Of course. And hopefully, it will have all the same and something different.

Could be good but seems like game freak are running out of ideas for new Pokemon.

RE: Pokemon Generation V announced - Crimson Fox - 02-21-2010

Well, they've already used most basic species of animal and plants, and basic elements. They have created baby versions of several of the pokemon and even gone back to give evolutions to older pokemon. There are machine-like pokemon, those that can travel through space, represent the cosmos, travel through dimensions, and others that are essentially gods or based on myths. So yeah, they've already used up many ideas.

I suppose they're limited due to their target market/desired ESRB rating, but it would be nice if they'd go for some more daring designs. Like maybe some small, cute looking imp with a twisted grin who carries a bloody looking axe. Hey, they already essentially have a "god" pokemon, why not go for more demonic pokemon as well and classify them as a new type? Yeah, I know there's a Dark type already, but Umbreon doesn't look twisted in the least.

Apparently for Soul Silver/Heart Gold, I have heard about an item that allows a player to play the game listening to the original 8-bit tracks. Don't quote me, but that'd be great.

Soul Silver/Heart Gold are where I'll stop with Pokemon. Because I feel that was the proper peak that Pokemon ever reached XP
