Contemplative Music - Bee - 11-30-2008

We've all had those days. The days where it was so stressful, that you just want to kick back in a comfortable chair, have a drink, and listen to some music.

This is what I wanna know; what kind of music, specifically, what songs, do you like to listen to when you're in this deep state of contemplation?

Feel free to link from Youtube, or any other website you use, so that we all can hear the song or songs.

RE: Contemplative Music - Wisemon - 11-30-2008

If by contemplative, you mean like mood music, music that paints inexplicable pictures, I would say Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots are two of my favorites. For some reason, for about the past six years, I often find myself listening to Soundgarden on lonely Friday nights.

I listen to Lemon Demon when I'm stressed out.

I know what you mean. My kind of comtemplative is when i sit and smoke at my open window, at midnight, listening to music. It's pretty deep. ^^

Any song by Linkin' Park (Faint, In the End or Somewhere I belong are my best options) at full, timpani-crushing volume is what I listen to when I have many flaming to do, yet I realize staying quiet is the way to go.

Music calms the beast.

When i'm down, Monty Python's "Always look on the bright side of life" song usually cheers me up...

and a relatively new one for me would be Dirge for the planet by Firelake, from the Stalker:Shadow of Chernobyl soundtrack. (here it is: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WDCNlqMgnvo&feature=related )

Stairway To Heaven by Led Zepplin

Seriously, if you don't find this song enjoyable after a stressful day, you need to have your head examined.

RE: Contemplative Music - Kundral - 12-03-2008

Or Momma by My Chemical Romance.

Mustn't forget Echoes by Pink Floyd. Even though its 23 minutes long, it's still a good, peaceful song.

...Hell, pick any Pink Floyd song.
