your secret life - milk me! - 08-22-2003

Do your friends or your family know about your fondness for hentai? Do they know that you're into the "darker side" of anime, or are they not even aware that our litte subculture exists?

No one in my family knows that I'm into hentai. I think they know that I like anime, but they really don't know much of anything about it, let alone the different factions of it (one of which being hentai and its different forms; yaoi, yuri, shonen-ai, etc.). They know that I like Miyazaki films (which I do in a truly wholesome kind of way ) and I think my mom know, or at least knew a while ago, that I liked Digimon. I'd watch it every afternoon during my fall and winter breaks home from college, but I think she thought I was watching it out of sheer boredom. Not because I actually liked it.

None of my friends are into hentai, and as far as I know, none of them even know what it is. I have one friend that is mildly into anime, but only certain movies, and certainly not series like Cardcaptors, Dragonball, Pokemon, or Digimon (the latter of which being the only long-running series that I really follow at all). A couple years ago I used to watch Digimon in the afternoons and occasionally one of my friends would watch it with me, but again, I think they suspected that I was trying to be ironic by watching it. There's no way that they were really watching it because they truly liked it, and there's no way that they thought I could possibly be either. Along the same lines, they don't know that I'm really a Digimon fan, and would probably be shocked and confused to know that I am. If they knew I was into hentai, well...I don't even know what they would do. They're all pretty conservative people, and the concept of it alone would make their heads explode. I don'd know what they'd do if they ever found my "secret stash" of hentai on my computer. Thank God I don't have to share my computer with them anymore.

So do your family or friends know about your love for hentai? I'm not talking about your "internet friends", who probably either don't care or are into it themselves (like most people on this board). I'm talking about the people you interact with on a daily basis. Do they know what hentai is? How would they react to you being a hentai fan? Do you hide your secret or are you open about it with others?

No one in my family knows.

The closest is my 10 year old cousin, he likes Pokeporn and Yu-Gi-Oh.

Heck no one in my family would even care too much, except for my older brother but you know what? He's too ashamed to admit he tapes porn of the satellite and thinks I'm too young for it and I'm 18!

Like I said, Mom wouldn't care and my Dad might actually be proud.

all my friends know about it. A female friend (not girlfriend unfortunately) accually sat on my lap and tranlated a digimon manga/hentai once.

My mother knows but we don't voice that we know each other know.

You got a point there... - Ryo_Kit - 08-22-2003

Well most parents can be, for a reason, a little bit 'over protective' at times or always, like mine. I know they would take away all my rights, computa 'n lock me in my room if I told them or if they fond out. I'm 16 for crying out loud. I'm a semi-adult!! Let me have a life....... Still, If I ever found out my little brother(9), was into this kinda stuff, I would probably try and talk him outa' it. I just think it, somehow, would ruin his life too...

I can't wait untill i'm 18 and get away from them all, get faster broadband and load up my pc with anime, hentai 'n all that stuff :) I LOVE IT!

BTW: Any of u guys in here into more stuff than ust digimon? I mean like ALL types of furry creatures? I'd love it if you would oin S.O.A.P (the Society Of Anthropomorphics) @ http://www.furry.ws/ I'd love to hear from all of you furries across the world... Maybe we can meet sometime at one of the convention in Virginia ^^,

No one knows, and no one ever will know. That's how I plan on keping it. If my friends found out that I like yaoi more than Yuri, I would never hear the end of being called Gay (but I'm not, and not that there is anything wrong with it, it just isn't me).
