Imagine Digimon and Pokemon matches...before trainers can say anything to their pokrmon Digimon would already have won...Its simple...no contest...unless Pokemon were able to battle at the same rate and then the matches could be interesting until a sigimon evolves in battle and then the Pokemon is screwed....
