Because that would mean posts would be lost. If all finished threads would be deleted there would be nothing to look at.

I don't see why the thread has to be locked up. And anyhow, she was just harmlessly commenting on the pics that Ray linked. If you want it locked and think it's dead, you should have left it for dead and asked the moderator.
