Solia recalled the ambush my the assassin in black robes with the scythe. "Yeah, I remember. You defeated that one guy dressed in the black robes and then before we could finish him off, the lady with the disembodied voice cast that warp spell on him. You think that was who did it?"

A black-jack dealer wavered them over now. "How about a nice game of 21 my friends?" he asked.
Ardeal shrugged his shoulders. "Wanna give it a go?" he asked Mika.
(Conscendo: Streets)
"You arrogant son of a bitch!" Skye yelled. "Vance!"
Vance placed the curve of his scythe right up against Quarry's neck. "Move and this man's head will roll."
The man turned. "You were the one my daughter and her friends beat up weren't you?"
Vance fumed and pulled the blade closer to Quarry's neck.
"Don't get hasty," he laughed. Then, he disappeared and reappeared behind Vance, knocking him aside like a piece of garbage.

Faiz only shooks his head. "I'm not sure...until that mysterious voice admit it...but I will kill her in order to end my nightmare without hesitate...." He said seriously while grasping his fist.

"Sure thing!" Mika then take a seat on the chair, in front of the black-jack dealer. As usual, she'll do another psycho 'war', like what she've done to the roulette roller.

Solia kissed him. "And I'll be with you every step of the way," she said. "That insuffrable wench will get what she's got coming." She rubbed Faiz's furry chest to sooth his anger.

"Alright then," the dealer rubbed his hands together. "The rules are simple: I'll deal you two cards to start, one card face down, and one card face up. The goal is to get as close to 21 as possible. Number cards are the number value that is present on them. Aces can either be 1 or 11, your choice, and face cards are 10, which are jacks, queens, and kings. There are four bets you can make: the small, medium, large, and jackpot bets. If you take any of those bets, you have the chance to win them back by getting under 21. If you go over, you get nothing. If you get 21 exactly, you get triple the amount you bet in the first place. How about a quick practice run?" The dealer shuffled his deck and dealt a face down card and then dealt an 8 of hearts. "Okay, you can look at the face down card, but don't show it to me. If you think you can get closer to 21, just say 'Hit me'. If you think you're too close, just say 'Freeze'. If you went over 21, then you busted, and it's game over. Go ahead and check your cards."

"Vance!" Skye exclaimed. "Cunctus Inflecto," she shouted. She and Vance disappeared from sight only to reappear further down the street, running for the northern exit of the town and the Bridge of Beginnings.
"Cowards," the man spit on the ground.
"Thanks for saving me," Quarry said in a quiet voice. He blushed at the sight of the handsome man. "You look familiar...I swear I've seen those eyes before..."

"Nnnrr...Thank you..." He can't help but let out a soft murr as Solia's gentle palm caressing his furry chest. Like normal wolf, he really likes somone rubbing and caressing hiis chest and belly.

Mika listen the explanation of 21 card game, and seeming like she's understood, even though she plays so many times. "Okay. I check it first." Mika take a glance on the down card and she saw red heart king which represents 10before place it to down position. "Hit me."

"Oh, do you like that, my precious wolfie?" she asked as she quickened her rubbing. Suddenly, she heard the sound of someone's shoes hitting the stone street. She peered over into town and saw a woman and a man in black robes running for the bridge. "I wonder what they're running from," Solia said to Faiz, pointing at the two escaping people.

"Alright," the dealer said as he dealt the next card. "A 6 of spades."
"Did you get it, Mika?" Ardeal asked anxiously.
(Conscendo: Streets)
"Hey, it's no prob," the strange man smiled and gave him a thumb's up.
'Such a familiar smile too,' Quarry thought.
"Just make sure you watch out for yourself," he said and prepared to leap back on top of the buildings.
"Wait!" Quarry called out. "Who are you?"
The man did not respond, but instead, continued his ascent of the buildings. "My name is that of what approaches when the false lights come on and the Sun closes it's eyes, veiled by our own living area," the man called back to Quarry.
Quarry was left to figure out the riddle.

Faiz in the meantime, giggles layfully with his tails swishing happily and at the same time, looking to the two escaping people. "Who knows...Maybe they need to rush for something..."

Mika sweatdropped a little, acted like she nervous because her cards went over 21. "Uhmm...almost..." She 'calculated' and quickly slap her forehead, before she show the hidden card that represents red heart king. "Busted. It went over 21. Hehe. My mistake after all."

Skye ran over the bridge, with Vance in tow, even though the man wasn't chasing them. Then, something interesting caught her eye: a cute little girl and a wolf man with two tails. "That's him!" Skye exclaimed as she stopped in her tracks, looking at the couple under the giant oak tree. Vance almost collided into her, but managed to stop himself and see what she was looking at.
Solia looked up at the strange people that had been running a minute ago. "Can we help you?" she asked politely until she recognized the man in the dark robes. She gasped. "Faiz, it's that assassin!!"

"Hey, that was just a practice run," the dealer reassured. "Here's the real thing now, so what's your bet?"
Ardeal was a little disappointed, but he quickly cheered up and kissed Mika on the cheek. "You can do it, sweetheart," he said.
The dealer went ahead and dealt the face-down card, and then followed up with a face-up 4 of diamonds. "Place your bet, my dear," the dealer said, a large smile on his face.

"That voice..." Faiz growls softly as slowly lifts his body before stood up straight. "I guess I found 'her'....Solia, stay here..." He said while slowly approaching Skye and Vance with his fists on his side.

"Thank you..." The dragoness blush softly as putting a Small bet on it. She lifts the face-down card and it shows 7 black spades. "Hit me."

"Intego," Solia cast a Protection spell on Faiz causing him to glow with a green aura.
Skye smirked. "So I've finally found you," she said smugly, entering a fighting stance with Vance following her example, his scythe at the ready. "Don't let him get near you," she whispered to Vance. "He'll shock the hell out of you again. Go after the girl: Inflecto." Vance's body disappeared. "This is between us two," she said out loud. She leapt into the sky and threw her ring at him, it threatening to slice him in half.

The dealer dealt his next card. It was a jack of clubs. "Well, any luck, fair dragoness?" he asked.

Quarry uttered only one word, having solved the mystery man's riddle: "Dusk."

A spark of lightning emerge on Faiz's claws as jumped to the air and grab the ring in ease. The lightning sparks flows through the metal ring and throws back to Skye. "I shall show no mercy this time...like what you've done to my village..." He growls in deep anger.

Mika quickly says "Freeze!" as the card which represents the remaining 10 complete the 21. Then, she show the 7 black spades. "Am I doing it right?"
