The night went off without a hitch, the kids were sleeping soundly on the floor, and the teenagers were off with their respected partners

Sometime during the night Jun had dragged Koushiro off to her bedroom

Much to Koushiro's grunts and moans for her just to leave him only

Her excuse was that she might not see him again

One last time...

Mimi lay close to Jyou; his arms were wrapped around her prone body, her chin resting on top of his shoulder

Takeru had Hikari wrapped under a blanket; just her allowing him to touch her again was another to allow him to sleep soundly

Janet had Yamato in a death like vice grip, for some reason she had it set in her mind that he was not going to return to her, Yamato struggled to roll over but Janet was not allowing him to move away from her

The most comfortable of the ensemble had to be Taichi and Sora, being that they had slept beside one another many times, both of them knew how the other slept, Sora proving this by allowing her legs to intertwine with Taichi's-so he wouldn't kick her while he slept

That damn dream of him playing soccer had given her many of bruises on her legs

The only ones not sleeping beside another was Daisuke and Michael

Michael had passed out near the couch, in his hands clutched a video cassette

Daisuke had not slept

He was now watching the sunrise over the towers in Odiba. He was clutching the hilt to his sword. It shouldn't be this hard, they had face many different enemies, but why was this one bothering him?

Was it because Ken was a friend at one time?

Is it because Ken was his jogressing partner?
Or was it because

This time the battle was serious

This battle was for the future generation of destines

This battle was for love

The sun had risen over the buildings

Miyako would have loved this

Daisuke nodded

It was true

Time to go

Time to end this

Later...

Jun was rushing around trying to pick the trash and blankets and pillows off the floor

The male destines were crowded around Koushiro's laptop

Daisuke had crossed over to the digi-world five minutes before the others did

IT was a quick way to tell their girlfriends goodbyes

Sora was crying clutching Taichi's head against her own, allowing her to look into his eyes

"Sora you are making this into a big deal" Taichi said softly, smiling gently

"It is a big deal. We are not even married and I feel like I am sending you off to your death"

"Ha" Taichi chuckled "Look we will be fine, Koushiro is going to be here with you girls just in case. Go to the doctor's appointment, listen to our baby's heartbeat, tape it for me"

Sora nodded, wiping her face free of tears

Taichi walked to the computer and held out his D-3, the gate opened and he was gone in a brilliant flash of white light
Michael hugged his sister tightly

"Don't worry about me or the others. I've still got Terriermon"

Terriermon nodded

Janet kissed his cheek softly

"You'll be fine"

Michael nodded and he held his D-3 up to the computer, he and Terriermon disappeared in a flash of light

Yamato slinked by Janet, watching her face, not knowing what to say anymore

Janet grabbed his arm and kissed his passionately

"You're not getting away that easily she whispered pulling away from him

Yamato smiled and whispered

"I love you, you know that right?"

Janet gulped and nodded

Yamato turned and disappeared

"T.K, its your turn" Koushiro said quietly

Takeru held Hikari's hand tightly

They walked to the gate; he turned and flashed a quick smile

"See you soon" he said to Hikari

Hikari's eyes welled up with tears

"I know, and I'll be here waiting"

Takeru nodded and kissed her cheek

Takeru's light wings appeared as he stepped to the gate and disappeared

Koushiro turned to Jyou and nodded

Jyou leaned in, his black sack swung lightly against them; he kissed Mimi's cheek lightly. His face blushed hotly

"Bye" he whispered and disappeared

Koushiro ran a hand through his hair as screens began to pop up and he kept a close eye on each. Though at least Iori was on damage control with school, as they sent him earlier, knowing that he was too young for this mission, destine or not.

Janet plopped down near the desk and held her head in her hands, Hikari sat down next to her, rubbing her shoulders softly

Mimi and Sora looked at each other

"We should get going Sora. Your appointment is in about an hour"

Sora nodded

"Keep us informed Koushiro"

Koushiro nodded

"Keep your phone on at all times, the both of you. You have any problems let me know immediately"

The women nodded and left quickly

"Jun, can I have a glass of water?" Koushiro yelled into the kitchen

In the digi-world...

As the destine males came through one by one, the stood in shock

Koushiro had landed them as close as he could to the castle

But what if he knew?

The world was in ruins, it appeared that there had some digimon that had tried to attack Ken, not wanting to be under his control again, and met their ends against Ken's demons. The grass was scorched in places; in others there were gigantic hole from what appeared to be explosions. The sky was dark and stormy, lighting crashed all around them, the wind howled through the trees that were left still standing.

"This is horrible" Jyou said softly

"And it is getting ready to end, hopefully it will return to normal again" Takeru said in return

Taichi scanned the area, his sword materialized in his hands

"Any signs of Daisuke?"

"I'm here, just went and got us a little help," Daisuke said as he walked towards the others. Behind him were the respected partners to the destines. Agumon was there, followed by Gabumon, Patamon was already there and resting on Takeru's head, V-mon was there standing beside Daisuke already evolved

Daisuke saw Jyou's wandering eyes

"Sorry Jyou I couldn't find your partner"

Jyou nodded

"He will show up soon" smiling and shaking his head

Taichi clapped his hands

"Well shall we get this party started?" he said as he held his D-3 out, it had begun to glow slightly

The others nodded and held out their D-3's, they were all glowing

A bright light flashed as the digimon partners evolved

In the castle...

Ken sat on a dark throne, high above the floor, his eyes wandered to where he had Miyako chained to the wall. He smiled darkly

"They are here to save your worthless carcass" he said to her "You know this could have all been solved if you had been my bride and helped me destroy the children, but no. You chose the route through pain"

Miyako lifted her dirty face

"He's going to kill you, you bastard"

Ken lifted his head and laughed

"Well he is certainly welcome to try. WORMMON!!"

Wormmon scuttled into the room

"Yes master?"

"You're worthless you know that. Summon the demons to their location. I wanted their claws dripping in their blood soon"

"Please master, you don't want to do this" Wormmon said softly

"You are one to tell me what I do and don't want. Do as I say or you will be the General's bitch tonight"

Wormmon lowered his head

"Yes master" as he scuttled off

Ken stood, his cape flowed around him

"So it begins"

Outside...

The destines had seen this all before. Watching their respected partners evolve into larger more powerful versions of their old selves

Taichi looked over them all, he had done this before, he had fought to save this world before, but this time it felt different

A dark cloud seemed to be moving across the sky from the castle, he didn't need to be told that it had to be a swarm of demons

He could already hear their laughter as they neared them

He picked up his sword, glancing at the new crest; this was his and Sora's

And he'd be damned if he was going to allow Ken near his child

"DEMON STRIKE" the cloud called out

Energy rays launched from their claws attacking the ground near the destines

Taichi looked around as the explosions rocked the ground beneath their feet

"YOU ALL KNOW HOW THIS WORKED, LETS GO!" Taichi roared

"NOVA BLAST" Greymon roared, sending a ball of flame into the cloud, incinerating different parts of the demons

The demons landed and advanced

The destines and their partners rushed in, attacking

Greymon and Garrumon stood side by side, letting their attacks keep some of the demons at bay

The battle had begun

Sora had Mimi's hand in her own; she was squeezing it tightly as the doctor came into the room.

"Hello, I am Doctor Mitzuki, I will be performing your ultrasound today. Shall we see how your baby is doing?"

Sora nodded, she wanted to get back over to Jun's as quickly as she could, she didn't want to be here, the table was cold, and this hospital gown was uncomfortable

"Now your charts say that this is your first child. Is it your child" she asked motioning to Mimi and Sora

They glanced at one another

"Oh no, no, no. Our fiancé's are away on...business"

Mitzuki nodded

"Just checking, now shall we start"?

The doctor began to flip switches on the machine sitting behind her, the machine came to life, the doctor picked up the sensor, she smeared a protective jelly across Sora's stomach

Sora gasped, it was freezing

"Sorry about that, it's pretty cold. It used to enhance the connection from the skin to the sensor"

Mitzuki started from the base of Sora's stomach and worked her way up slowly

The doctor kept a close eye on the screen as she worked, Sora was beginning to worry slightly as the doctor kept writing things on a pad, she nodded a couple of times as she worked slowly

Time seemed to drag on slowly

Back in the digi-world...

The battle was not going on as the destines had planned

Taichi's shirt had ripped, his sword was soaked in black blood, Yamato had seen better days himself, Daisuke was fighting like a man possessed, Jyou was keeping his head down as best as he could, no partner, no powers there was not much he could do, but sit back and watch. Takeru had taken to the sky, stopping most of the aerial attacks with his light sword; he swooped through the sky like he was born to be there. Michael at least had Gargomon beside him, helping him fight

But even with their evolved partners they did not have an upper hand

"This is Ken, this is never going to end if we don't stop Ken in the castle" Takeru called out as he swooped on a demon and sliced its head off cleanly

Taichi nodded that he had heard him

Yamato was surrounded by demons, his brutal attacks was only keeping them at bay for a short time, even his energy blasts didn't have the power as they did in the real world

"We need to end this quickly Tai I don't think we can hold out much longer"

"Yeah I know" Taichi called back as he attacked a demon, its claws sliced through his skin, raking his body with white hot coals

"Fine Takeru, take Daisuke into the castle, stop Ken in there. We will keep fighting them out here"

Takeru swooped in and grabbed Daisuke under the arms as they took off towards the castle

"What about us Taichi?" Michael called out

"We hold our ground, fight them as much as you can. We cannot lose this"

Taichi lunged forward and sliced a demon in half, kicking the other half away

"These things don't be appearing to let up now do they" Jyou said as he ducked a demon's blast

"He's right Taichi, they don't appear to be letting up" Yamato said, coming up beside Taichi

"I see that Yamato, we will have to keep on trying"

In the castle...

Ken stood as an explosion rocked the building, they had come

Takeru flew in from a large hole in the throne room

He dropped Daisuke down on the floor

Daisuke crouched as he hit the ground, he stood holding his sword

"Sorry to crash in like this Ken. But you know me and Takeru were talking just last night about how we have let you have enough time in this world"

Ken smiled

"And you decided that you would come and try to stop me"

"Something like that Ken, we will not allow to hurt the next generation of destines, neither you nor demon will hurt the babies" Takeru said, his wings folding behind him and disappearing

Ken walked down the stairs leading from his throne, he unsheathed his sword

"So which one shall die before me first?" Ken said reaching the stairs

Daisuke took a step forward, but Takeru held out his hand stopping him

"I've got some unfinished business with him. Get Miyako and get out of here"

Daisuke nodded and took off to the far end of the room

"You know the power that Demon bestowed on me makes me a master swordsman," Ken said through gritted teeth

Takeru shook his head as he unsheathed his sword

"And that is supposed to impress me"

The struck at each other at the same time, sparks flew as the flurry of attacks continued

Daisuke ran to the wall where Miyako was chained

"Come on its time to go" he said as he pulled at the chains

Miyako looked at him lazily

"You came..."

"To die" a voice said behind him

Daisuke turned to see the Demon General that had thrown him off her apartment building so many days ago

"I really don't have time to put up with this" Daisuke said quietly as he continue to pull at Miyako's chains

"Make time," the general growled as he swiped at Daisuke's back, tearing a claw mark in his back

Daisuke gritted his teeth in pain, his hand slipped down to his hilt, he pulled it out, ignited the blade

The general went to strike out again, Daisuke swung his blade out, slicing the general's arm off in a clean motion

"Back off asshole" Daisuke said

"Bring it on little boy"

Daisuke stopped, he lowered his sword

"Oh come off it, what is with the whole mock action movie bravado. I have this sword that just ripped your fucking arm off. Yet you keep coming back at me like you're a bad B movie actor, and you know what?"

Daisuke picked the sword and swung, cutting the head off the demon

"That line is from Superman, you fucking unoriginal bastard"

The body moved around, attempting to live without its head, splashing its black blood all over the floor. The head rolled over towards Daisuke's foot

"And all that does is pisses me off" he said as he kicked the head as if he was in the World Cup, as hard as he could across the room. The head ricocheted off a wall and impaled itself on a spike

"Fuck superman" he said quietly as he turned to Miyako and cut through her chains with the sword

Miyako collapsed into his arms; Daisuke wrapped his arms around her and collapsed to the floor

He kissed her matted hair softly

"You came for me," she whispered softly

"Anytime chica" Daisuke said as he watched Takeru and Ken fight

"You know Ken, for a master swordsman, you suck" Takeru said after lading a quick slice to Ken's arm

Ken stumbled back

"Now Takeru. Does your girlfriend ever call my name when you are making love" Ken said with a dark smile

Takeru growled and struck out blindly, he made a wild swing at Ken's head. Ken blocked and sent his blade across Takeru's midsection, slicing him deeply

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, Takeru, letting your emotions take control. Its your downfall, what does Hikari see in that sweet face?"

Takeru grunted on the floor, he could warmth starting to spread across his body

"Does all she see a face, but the true evil is behind that face. We have seen you dark side once, why don't you give up and join me"

"I would rather die, before I forsake her again" Takeru said, pain was welled inside his body

"Irony at its best" Ken said as he struck Takeru in the midsection "You will die"

Ken raised his sword, and was about to strike the killing blow, when a light blue sword came exploding out of chest, spraying Takeru with Ken's blood. Takeru looked up shocked

Ken turned, the blade still embedded in his chest

"Wha?" he gurgled, blood poured slowly from his mouth as he collapsed on the floor. Miyako stood behind him; her hands were balled up into fists, tears streamed down her dirt face, leaving clean streaks where they rolled down her face

"Ken...I..." she started, Daisuke came up behind her and led her away, they walked to the front of the castle and out the door
Takeru knelt beside his fallen friend, he wanted to cry but he felt so angry about what had happened over the past few weeks, he couldn't take it anymore. He wiped his hand over Ken's face, closing his dead eyes

"I wish it could have been any other way Ken. I really do"

Suddenly the walls began to shake, concrete from the ceiling was beginning to fall to the ground, exploding into millions of pieces when it hit

Takeru stooped to pick Ken up

"Leave him," a small voice said behind him

Takeru turned hurriedly to see Wormmon; the small digimon had tears in his eyes

"Leave him there" it said quietly

"You have to get out of here Wormmon, the whole house is coming down"

"I cant leave him here T.K, let me die beside him"

"Wormmon..." Takeru began

Outside...

The ground began to shake beneath the destines feet

"We have to get out of here, this whole place is becoming unstable" Jyou called

Taichi was on the ground, a demon on his chest, its claws wrapped around his throat, squeezing the air out of his body

Suddenly it disappeared

Yamato had been fighting a horde of demons by himself, suddenly they disappeared

Michael was hurt, his arm had been sliced and was bleeding harshly, Gargomon had protected him as much as he could but he himself was beaten bloody

Then it was quiet

The demons had disappeared

Nothing moved

There was no sound

Suddenly with the impact of a nuclear bomb the castle exploded in a white light and was gone

Taichi sat up; his throat was red and bruised

"What just happened over there?"

"Ken must have been defeated, but where is the others?" Yamato asked

"Guys that shockwave is going to hit here soon, the others have sensed it and have already left" Jyou said sharply as he ran over to the gate

It was true the digimon partners had disappeared, Terriermon had de-evolved and so hadn't Patamon

Taichi looked around, he could see the shockwave rushing towards them

"Get in the gate" he roared

Jyou was the first one to jump through

Michael was next

"We cant leave them Tai, we cant leave them" Yamato said, searching over the landscape

"Yamato, we have to go. They will..."

Just then Daisuke came over the hill, carrying Miyako on his back, he didn't say a word, he just dived into the gate and disappeared

"Well there is two, where is T.K.?" Taichi asked

Yamato stood, he didn't move any

"The shockwave was coming closer and closer

"YAMATO, WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE NOW!!!" Taichi yelled as he neared the gate

"He's right big bro, time to go" Takeru said as he picked Yamato up and threw him into the gate, he followed closely behind him

Taichi looked at the landscape once more, and leapt into the gate

The shockwave washed over the landscape, incinerating the entire landscape

Back in Jun's house

The destines collapsed on the floor

Koushiro was passing out towels and bottles of water to the exhausted crew

"What happened to Ken?" Koushiro asked

"I...killed him," Miyako said

The others just stared at her; she fainted into Daisuke's arms
