A Day at the Hotel

Tai and Matt slowly drifted off to sleep, exhausted from their fun.
Not a sound could be heard from their room as the moon etched its way across the night sky.
Down the hall, however, there was a different scene. Sora and Mimi had left T.K.
in their room, since he had fallen asleep well before the incident which was all
for the better. The two girls had then headed to Joe and Izzy's room. They weren't worried about the digimon, since they were too far away to hear anyway. This is where we pick up the story....

"Izzy, Joe, we need to talk. NOW!!" Sora yelled, throwing open the door to their room, her voice making Izzy and Joe jump. Izzy nearly fell off of the bed and Joe did fall off of the window sill he'd been sitting on. Izzy turned to gaze at her with a look of confusion and frustration, however Joe just turned his head towards in the direction of the hallway and shook it.

"I think I know why your here, " Joe said as he stood up and strolled over to a chair. He motioned for the two girls to sit down, and after everyone was comfortable he continued. "It's about the noise you girls heard from down the hall, isn't it?" he asked. They shook their heads in agreement. “Did T.K. hear?" Joe asked, now worried for the youngest member of their team.

"No, he was sound asleep and he didn't wake up, so we left him in there," Mimi said. Mimi had realized by now that the less Sora said, the fewer injuries any of them would suffer.

"Good, that's good," Izzy said, taking a breath as he paused to think. “All right, I guess we need to figure out what we're going to do about this situation."

Besides, we're a team and we need everybody for that team to work. They'll tell us someday, and when they do, we need to except and except them as well."

He suddenly realized that Sora and Mimi were gone.

"Where did they go? Did they leave me?" T.K. said he was starting to get worried until he saw a letter tapped to the door to the hallway.

"Of course," said the penguinmon, "and would you like chocolate or plain milk?"

"Right away little one," and with that the penguinmon dashed back towards the rear of the dinning room with the order.

"Hey," T.K. said, looking around, “where’s Matt and Tai. They never miss breakfast."

"I don't think they’re..." Sora started to say.

"Here we are," Tai said as he walked into the room with Matt. Tai walked over and sat on the opposite side of Sora and Matt sat down next to T.K. and Tai.

" Did you sleep good, T.K.?" Matt asked as he tussled T.K. hair, knocking off his hat.

"Aw, Matt, I just fixed my hair," T.K. said in disappointment as he scooped up his hat and put it back on.

"That was fixed? Well, I hate to see it when it's messed up," Tai said and laughed, causing everyone to grin, even Sora.

"Come on T.K., let's get some food," Matt said as he and Tai rose from the table.

"I already ordered mine," T.K. boasted.

"All by yourself?" Matt asked with surprise.

"Yep, all by myself," T.K. said and grinned.

"Wow T.K., you're starting to take care of yourself, aren't you," Matt said and grinned. T.K. just grinned back.

Tai and Matt joined Joe and Izzy in the buffet line. The four came back with their plates full of food. By this time T.K.'s order was ready. They all started to eat, but nobody was talking. Tai was a bit offset by this, so he decided to start a conversation.

"You know, I bet we could talk Monzaemon into letting us stay here another night. I mean, we did save his hotel from being destroyed, right. Besides, Mimi, Sora, I heard that this place has a spa around here somewhere," he said, hoping to break the ice.

"Yeah, Biyomon was telling me about that when the digimon came in to eat earlier. She said that Monzaemon had already said we could stay another night," Sora commented.

Everyone soon finished eating and Sora and Mimi headed off towards the spa. T.K. and Izzy went to look for the digimon, since nobody had seen them since breakfast. Joe headed back to his room to take a shower, leaving Tai and Matt alone in the cafeteria.

"Do you get the feeling that something’s going on here?" Matt asked as he got up from the table.

"Yeah, it does seem strange that Sora didn't pester me to go with her and that Joe wasn't curious about what we were going to do," Tai replied.

"You think they suspect that we....?'' Matt began to ask.

"Nay, they couldn't know. Anyway, what do you want to do now, since they left us alone?" Tai asked innocently.

"I don't know. Hey, why don't we track down Agumon and Gabumon and see what they've been up to," Matt suggested.

"Okay, cool. Let's go."

T.K. spotted a door labeled Training Room. "Hey, Izzy, could they be in there?"

"Hum, they might be. Let's check it out."

The two opened the door and stepped inside. The room was done up like a gym, equipped with various machines and weights. "Hey Patamon, how are you doing? Did you sleep okay?" T.K. asked as he hefted his digimon into his arms.

"I slept fine. I was just in here watching Tentomon practice," Patamon lifted into the air and spun around to face T.K.. "Hey, they got a TV room around here somewhere, you wanna go?"

"Sure. Bye Izzy, see you later," T.K. said and with that the two left.

"Tentomon, where's Agumon and Gabumon?" Izzy asked. A strange thought played through his head, but he dismissed it.

"I don't know. They left right after breakfast. They said they were going to go look around. Why?"

"Oh, I was just wondering, that's all." For some reason Izzy had trouble dismissing the thought this time around.
