The Judgment of life - Original series by MISTER BIG T

Elfen is determined to end it all.

Chapter 6: No use to cry

SEVERAL DAYS LATER…

Elfen closed her eyes and focused. The blood in the cup in front of her started to slowly boil.

The necromancer smirked “Blood boil. One of the most important offensive spells of a necromancer. No one really knows the limits of necromancery. Necromancers can make anything that was once dead alive again. They can also make anything that’s alive into dead. Necromancers are the only people who truly are the masters of the death.”

You’re telling me I could resurrect people if I’d want to?” Elfen asked as she gave a blink of amazement.

The necromancer was silent but then finally replied “If the person dies near you, you may be able to capture the escaping spirit before it goes into the abyss. However the longer the person has been dead, the harder it is to resurrect him or her.”

The necromancer walked towards the baby and raised her up.

“I’ve now taught you several spells and how to release your anger through magic. Now after you’re done with whatever you intend to do, I look forward to you keeping your part of the bargain,” he spoke as he gently stroked the baby girl’s left cheek.

Elfen gave a nod and looked away into distance “I am aware that I must help her grow up. I know she’ll probably be the death of me and everyone around me. But to speak the truth, I do not care about anyone, not even of myself. No one has ever cared of me, why should I care of anyone either?”

“Well said young one. However how do you plan on finding these people?” he questioned.

“I heard the name of one of them. And I never forget any of their faces. It may take me years but I’ll not rest before Drett and his men shall pay for what they’ve done,” she replied.

The necromancer seemed obviously taken surprise as he spoke “Drett? Did you just say… Drett? I know of the man you speak, he’s a world renowned holy paladin. He lives in a mansion nearby with his most trusted man, Drang.”

“Thank you… For everything you’ve done for me. And yet, I still don’t even know your name…” Elfen spoke as she smiled her kind smile first time since the carnival.

The man smiled back as he replied, “My name is Koran.”

AT THE SAME TIME….

Drett walked into the room where the other dragons were already waiting for him. He leaned against his cane as he gave a small cough.

“Greetings friends. Recently I received a vision of a great evil being brought upon this land… This evil is diabolically evil and possesses near endless amount of power. If this being shall grow old, neither we nor any other follower of light will stand a chance against it….” Drett spoke before bowing his head down as if to gather courage to continue. “Therefore… All newborn babies must be killed in this city.”

Drang’s eyes widened in shock “That cannot be!! There must be another way!!!”

“There’s no other way… We do not know who the being is, if it’s a girl or a boy. We must kill every single baby, not looking at their age, race or gender… ” Drett spoke as he gave yet another cough.

This time, the coughing did not stop. Drett fell on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.

“Drett!!” Drang exclaimed as he ran to his master’s side. “I’ll go take care of him; you people make yourselves at home we’ll get back at you after he’s had some rest.”

Drang helped Drett get into the back room where he laid down on a bed.

”I know you Drett and…. I know it must have been real hard for you to say something like that… “Drang spoke as he pulled a sheet over his friend.

Drett suddenly took a very strong hold of Drang’s arm as he responded, “You’re my greatest pupil and a close friend of mine. Yet, you do not know me at all. A person such as you will never understand the likes of me…”

THIRTY YEARS AGO…

Bernard walked into a cave where Drett was at. The musky air was filled with stench of burnt flesh and magic. Death was everywhere.

”They’re dead…. They are all…. Dead….” Drett slowly mumbled as he stared directly into Bernard’s eyes.

A moment of silence passed between the two.

“All my five kids…… And my three wives…. They were slaughtered by the creatures of Chaos… Just when we were out killing them, they attacked our hideout……. Everyone… Everyone is dead….” Drett continued to speak as he got up on his feet and took hold of his sword.

Bernard took a step closer “I know you must be angry and horrified but going out there alone would be a suicide… They know you’re about to come…. You’ll never survive….”

Drett said absolutely nothing as he just looked directly into Bernard’s eyes. The eyes were almost saying the words “It is my intention.” Without saying anything, he walked out of the cave. Bernard remained still and looked around the cave. Two dragons had been nailed together and their bodies were still giving weak sickly looking twitches. There were kids, elders, women, men, and even babies lying on the ground dead or dying. Even from a lesser sight, one would lose their mind.

And so I rushed outside against the army of darkness alone and armed with only my rage and lust for blood as retribution of the death of my family. I didn’t try to survive, I tried to kill as many as I could. What started as a suicide mission, turned into me scaring the entire army of chaos away as I refused to stay down even from countless of bites and magical blows. Nothing they did could kill me; they just made me madder. And thus I found myself becoming a hero of the side of light, a man of legend. Drett, the man who single handedly destroyed all what was evil. It was then I realized that I still had a purpose. My purpose would be to destroy all traces of darkness and make sure no evil on the earth shall go unpunished… No matter even if it’d cost me my soul…”

Chapter 7: Times up

Elfen walked towards the mansion Koran had told about. It was huge and resembled more like a cathedral than a mansion. It had at least three levels. It obviously wasn’t being taken care enough since some of its stone walls had started to crumble.

“So here’s the person who stole everything from me…” she thought as she walked towards the huge wooden door and opened it.

Bernard looked at the direction of the door as he saw Elfen. He had a mouthful of chicken and had just been ready to take another bite. Bernard could tell from Elfen’s eyes what she wanted. That look was way too familiar for him. He immediately rose up and picked his axe from the floor.

Without even looking at Elfen’s direction, Urukai who had sat next to Bernard raised a small glass full of wine and took a sip. As he slowly twirled the mug in his hands and paid more attention to the wine inside rather than the attacker, he finally spoke up “So… I assume you’re not here to give us company?”

“I’m here to kill you all,” Elfen calmly replied as she began to walk towards the table.

Urukai chuckled and drank rest of the wine “I knew you were going to already from my friend’s reaction but that’s all right. I value your honesty and that you dare take on us face to face.”

“What pleasure would there be, if I’d not be able to gaze deep into your eyes as I claim your lives?” Elfen replied with a mocking tone of voice as she finally stopped moving towards the two.

Just then Bernard gave an ear splitting war cry as he ran towards Elfen. She tilted her head and extended her arm and pointed all of her fingers towards Bernard. That instance Bernard stopped running and he fell on his knees as he gasped for air. He vomited green ooze which smelt horrible and made even Elfen disgusted. The green color started to be painted as red and there started to come bits of his insides as Bernard collapsed on the floor dead.

“Now it’s your turn,” Elfen said as she took another step towards Urukai.

Just then the door on the other side of the room opened as Drang walked in “What’s all this racket? Drett needs his rest!”

This distracted Elfen for a moment as her natural reaction made her turn her head towards the direction of the voice behind her. This moment was enough for Urukai to jump up to his feet as he muttered few words while pointing his open palm at her. Elfen spun around only for her to realize Urukai and the room began growing bigger…. Or rather, her starting to shrink to a size of a five years old.

“No!! This isn’t possible!!” she exclaimed as pure terror flashed over her face.

Urukai laughed as he took few steps towards Elfen “You interrupted my meal. I’m still hungry so….”

“W… What?” she asked being confused. Just then she understood it and she shook her head and screamed “NOO! Please don’t I am sorry!!”

Urukai lifted Elfen from the back of her neck and chomped down on her guts. Elfen screamed as her innards were being torn and pulled out as Urukai feasted upon her flesh, blood, and organs.

“Please!! Help me!!” Elfen screamed and pleaded help from Drang or anyone, anyone at all.

Urukai opened his mouth even wider as he pushed Elfen inside while starting to squeeze his huge jaws close, the teeth beginning to pierce the screaming and crying girl all over her body. As Urukai bit his jaws shut it made the eye of Elfen pop out of her skull as she was pushed into depths of him.

As Urukai swallowed Elfen and licked his blood covered lips, he could see Drang looking at him disgusted and asked “Something troubling you?”

“It is things like this which made me become angry at you so many years ago. Your fighting knows no honor… Just cruelty,” Drang muttered as he looked at the remains of Bernard lying on the floor.

Urukai gave a chuckle. “This or that, you’ll need me if you ever wish to save the world. But now I must leave, eating a person always makes me horny,” he said while he walked past Drang and just as he was about to pass him, he let out an obscene burp on a purpose.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And then Elfen woke up. The pain was incredible. Urukai’s stomach acid was washing her over. She had merely one finger in her hand. The acids had dissolved her skin and her figure had started to lose shape. Death was offering its sweet embrace to her, a gift at this point anyone would have taken.

But not Elfen. She refused to die. She refused to let this person… This filth, consume her…

Just then Urukai groaned and fell off the bed.

”What’s the matter?” the harlot who had been under him asked.

Urukai panted and grabbed his chest “I… I don’t know, I have to go…..”

He ran into the toilet which was in the same luxurious room of this love hotel. He took handful of water from a bucket and washed his face with it. As he gazed himself from mirror, he saw the eyes of Elfen, staring into the very depth of his soul.

You made a mistake……. You did not kill me….”

Urukai literally fell on his back from the shock. He had eaten countless of people of many age and gender. None of them… Had done something like this.

He slowly made his way up to his feet as he looked back into the mirror. There was nothing. He must have been imagining all of it.

Just then, the pain hit him again. This time it forced him onto his knees as he coughed blood. Some fragments of bones were in the small pool.

“T…This can’t be happening….” he exclaimed in his mind.

Just then a hand bursted through his abdomen. He gave a huge scream of agony as Elfen pushed herself out of his stomach, seemingly unharmed.

Urukai coughed and swallowed as he tried his best not to die from the sheer agony “I…Impossible… I ate you… I digested you….”

”I feel as if I’d be reborn…. I hope you don’t mind… That I ‘repaired’ myself with some of your body parts…” Elfen giggled as she pushed herself out from the stomach.

Elfen’s naked body fell on the floor. She was painted red from the blood. She glanced at the dying dragon whose guts were wrapped around Elfen who rose up to her healthy leg.

She moved her skinless arm and with few movements, the skin of Urukai melted and replaced her lost skin tissue “I can’t use more of your body… You destroyed me too much…”

“Are you all right? I heard a scream?” a voice suddenly came from behind the door.

A smile came upon the face of Elfen “That will do to make me complete once again,” she thought as she moved towards the door.

And so Elfen brutally slaughtered the harlot and used her blood and flesh to make herself normal again. Thus truly betraying her legacy and becoming a killer of innocents.
