Part 5: Truths Revealed

Summary of past events: As the party was still split up and looking for each other, Renamon and Leomon had an intimate moment, declaring their true feelings that they held for each other. They've become even closer after making love soon after. BlackWarGreymon's group had a run in with one of Reapermon henchmen, Machinedramon, and had a fierce battle that they almost lost, but thanks to Angewomon, who finally perfected her healing powers, they succeeded in defeating the killing Digimon. A Dobermon helped them out and led them to his village for a rest. Ben's party saved a trio of treasure hunters ( Kumamon, Gatomon and Pumpkinmon)from a wild scorpiomon  and befriended them. They joined up with them shortly and continued their search for their friends.

Back to Ben and Soni group…

 

"Wow, another human! What's your name mister?" Kumamon eagerly asked Soni.

 

"Uhm, I'm Soni." He replied casually.

 

"Soni? Strange name." Pumpkinmon said. Soni was a bit bothered by that but he just ignored the comment.

 

"And who're you three supposed to be?"

 

"I'm Gatomon, this is Kumamon and that pumpkin head is Pumpkinmon." Gatomon introduced her gang.

 

"Thanks for the info Gatomon, but I already know that. I was wondering about whom you are supposed to be. What were you doing in that sand trap?"

 

"Oh, we're treasure hunters!" Kumamon said cheerily.

 

"Yeah, we travel around the world for anything that had any value." Gatomon explained.

 

"Mainly material value." Pumpkinmon added.

 

"Treasure hunters, huh? Pretty cool for a bunch of small Digimon." Soni remarked.

 

"Oh, I think it's a very novel idea!" Lillymon squealed.

  

"Thanks." Kumamon uttered. They all then kept quiet for a considerably long period of time, just blandly staring at each other with no idea of anything to say.

 

"Ah, well, I guess we'd be going on our way now." Ben finally said something.

 

"Oh, yeah, us too." Gatomon said.

 

"K', goodbye. It was nice knowing ya. See ya around." Terriermon followed.

 

"'Course, sure thing." Pumpkinmon replied. The group then slowly took their leave and was heading out of the swamps, before Kumamon called out for them.

 

"Hey, where are you all heading to, by the way?" he asked them.

 

"To that mountain over there. We're searching for our friends." Gomamon answered.

 

"Really? Hey, what do you know? That's our ticket too! Maybe we can travel together." Kumamon then exclaimed excitedly.

 

"Well, I don't mind. Any of you do?" Ben said and turned to his friends. They all shook their head with no.

 

"Fine with me." Soni shrugged, agreeing.

 

"Awright!" Kumamon and Gatomon danced in joy.

 

"Humph, what's the big deal anyway?" Pumpkinmon crossed his arms and frowned, hiding his glee.

 

The new party of two humans and six Digimon marched on together and finally find their way out of the swampy area. They spanned a few long miles and then entered the jungle zone.

 

"Oh crap! Every time I think we've made it, something else gets shoved into our way!" Terriermon grumbled, getting irritated by how far the mountain is.

 

"At least we're not at that swamp, eww, it was yucky!" Lillymon said in disgust.

 

"I give you that." Gatomon agreed.

 

"At least we're on the right road." Kumamon then stated.

 

"How do you know?" Soni asked.

 

"'Cause we live here, that's how." Pumpkinmon answered.

 

"You live here? But I thought you're nomads." Ben wondered.

 

"Being a treasure hunter doesn't mean being a nomad. We gather all the goods and hide it on our home." Kumamon explained, before getting whacked in the head by Pumpkinmon. "Ouch! Why'd you do that for?!"

 

"Are you stupid!? Going around telling everyone our secret!" Pumpkinmon snarled at him.

 

"C'mon, they're our pals now. No problem in telling them. Maybe we can even give them some of our treasure to repay them for their help." Kumamon said.

 

"Gosh! You will?" Gomamon said in a surprise.

 

"WHAT!?! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!" Pumpkinmon gasped shockingly.

 

"You're such a penny-pincher, Pumpkinmon." Gatomon sternly named him.

 

"And why shouldn't I? I didn't work my ass off collecting all that treasure just to give it away!" Pumpkinmon protested stingily.

Just then, at the other side, Leomon and Renamon where wandering through when Leomon sensed something.

 

"Something's near."

 

"Huh? What?" 

 

"Wait here." Leomon dashed towards the source in a hurry.

 

"L-Leomon! Don't leave me behind!" Renamon called out and ran after him.

Kumamon, Pumpkinmon and Gatomon were wrangling heatedly at each other, while the others where trying to quiet them down. Then, all of the sudden, a lion-man roared and appeared into the scene from out of nowhere, scaring the skin out of them.

 

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!" the trio screamed their heart out together.

 

"Alright! I'll be nicer! I'll even share my treasure! Honest! Just don't eat me!" Pumpkinmon yelped cowardly, Leomon's sword pointed at him.

 

"Leomon! Stop!" Ben yelled out to him.

 

"Leomon, why do you always… Oh my!" Renamon finally caught up with him and met the gang. "You're all right!" Renamon said in glee and hugged Ben and Soni, switching to Gomamon and Terriermon next. "We finally found you, I'm so glad!"

 

"I told you to wait back there." Leomon strictly said to her.

 

Renamon turned to him and smiled, "Oh Leomon, by now, you should know that no one listens to you when you say 'wait here', especially me."

 

"Whatever…" Leomon shook his head sighed before joining them.

 

"Where is Hasan? And Chris? They're with you, right?" Renamon then immediately questioned them eagerly.

 

"Oh… well, I'm sorry Renamon, but we haven't seen them." Ben sadly told her.

 

"No…" Renamon felt deeply sorrowed and dropped on her knees.

 

"I'm very happy to see that you're okay, Renamon. Please don't cry; we'll find them soon." Gomamon moved closer to her and tried to comfort her. Leomon crouched down to her and did the same, resting his hand on her shoulder and nodding to her.

 

"Of course, you're right." Renamon wiped her tear and smiled, standing up on her feet.

 

"Are those two… you're friends?" Kumamon wondered surprisingly.

 

"You bet! Renamon and Leomon were with us from the start. Renamon is Hasan's partner and ol' Leomon there is Chris'." Terriermon explained.

 

"Whoa! That Leomon is someone's partner!? If we had a tough fellah like him in our team we wouldn't fear about anyone opposing us!" Kumamon said admirably.

 

"I'd say the same thing about this pretty fox," Pumpkinmon said in a dreamy way, approaching Renamon and holding her right paw. "Hello there, Pumpkinmon at your service. My, you're the most beautiful thing I laid my eyes on." He then sweet talked her and kissed her paw like a gentlemon.

 

"I'm… flattered." Renamon blushed slightly.

 

"May I ask if you're available? 'Cause I'm free and loaded." Pumpkinmon then grinned. 

 

"Oh, I'm sorry, but I'm not interested. No offense of course. I'm kinda already taken too." Renamon pulled her paw and apologized to a heartbroken Pumpkinmon. He dangled his head in sadness and walked away slowly. Renamon really felt sorry for him. "Sorry." She said and then noticed Kumamon. "Hello? Never seen you before. What's your name?" She leaned down to him and asked the nervous bear cub.

 

"I-I-I'm Kumamon."

 

"Cute name, like you." Renamon remarked and made him blush even more, hiding his face with his cap.

 

"Uhmm, thanks." He answered shyly.

 

"You think so too, Renamon? I like him very much too! He just as cute as a button! I especially love the cap!" Lillymon joined her and they started to study the embarrassed teddy bear, forgetting the other males.

 

"Why him? No fair!" Pumpkinmon whined.

 

"Heh, looks like the new kid in block is getting all the attention." Soni chuckled.

 

"Damn…" Gomamon griped, seeing Renamon, the girl he likes the most, paying attention to a Digimon equally as good as him.

 

"Okay! That's enough flittering!" Gatomon frowned and pulled Kumamon away with her. Apparently, she was getting jealous as well. Kumamon hadn't got any attention from a female before, and now that he has, she didn't like it one bit.

 

"Ahem, I suggest that we should get going." Leomon then pointed out, letting out a discomforting cough. They all agreed and went on their way. As they were marching, they were telling each other about the events that had happened to them while they were separated.

 

Several minutes later, they reached an opened area in the middle of the jungle, with a huge oak tree stationed at it. It had a tree house at the top of it, made from woods and stones. It even had a swing hanged at one of its many branches.

 

"We're home!" Kumamon informed them.

 

"We are?" Terriermon wondered.

 

Pumpkinmon walked over to the swing and pulled it down. A loud click sound occurred and then a ladder bounced down from the top.

 

"Cool trick!" Gomamon exclaimed.

 

"Alright, all aboard. Ladies first." Pumpkinmon announced and winked at the girls. They all climbed the ladder except for Leomon. "Sorry big guy, you're way over the weight limit." Pumpkinmon then told him.

 

"I wasn't planning to." Leomon simply replied and waited down.

 

They entered the tree house and amazingly it was well furnished. "Hey, not bad." Soni remarked, checking the inside of the house.

 

"Nice place you got here. You built it yourselves?" Ben asked. 

 

"Yes! We like it here a lot. It's our sanctuary." Gatomon said.

 

"Here, have a seat. We'll go and make something for you." Kumamon then offered.

 

"No, no need to trouble you." Soni said.

 

"But we want to. Plus, I'm hungry too." Kumamon smiled.

 

"Let me give you a hand then." Renamon said.

 

"No thanks, we're fine. Let's go Kumamon!" Gatomon replied and dragged Kumamon with her to the kitchen.

 

"Hey, wait up!" Pumpkin followed them and before he entered the kitchen, he turned around and rudely said, "And don't think about looking for our treasure while we're not around!"

 

"Argh! Will you drop it already!? We don't want your stinkin' treasures!" Terriermon snarled at him.

At that time, our remaining friends were moving towards the mountain, as it seems only miles away. But it was getting dark.

 

"We're getting close to our goal, and yet we haven't found the others." Hasan said, feeling discouraged.

 

"I feel the same, I'm worried..." Chris followed.

 

"Come on, don't be so down. I'm sure, they're fine, you'll see. I can feel it." Angewomon tried to lift up their spirits.

 

"Really?"

 

"Yes, trust me. Isn't that right, Black? Black?" Angewomon called out to BlackWarGreymon but he didn't reply. He was oddly quiet and that concerned his friends. "Black!"

 

"Huh? What?" he finally snapped out and said.

 

"What do you mean what? You were strangely silent ever since we left the village."

 

"I was?"

 

Angewomon got closer to him and placed her right hand on his forehead. "Hmm, your temperature is normal. Are you really feeling okay?"

 

"What are you doing? Of course I'm alright." He answered casually.

 

"Well, you’re not acting like it." Chris stated.

 

"Yeah, seeing you quiet for a full hour can make anyone worried." Hasan smirked.

 

BlackWarGreymon scratched his head warily, "Aw, it's nothing, really. I was just... thinking."

 

"Oh my god! For real!?" Angewomon exclaimed jokingly and made Chris and Hasan laugh.

 

"Hey! I do!" BlackWarGreymon retorted grimly.

 

"Oh, I was just kidding!" Angewomon giggled. "So, what were you think about? It must be serious. I haven't seen you like this since..." She stopped in the middle of her line, like she was about to say something unpleasant.

 

"Something wrong Angie?" BlackWarGreymon asked, noticing her troubled face.

 

"Oh, no, it's nothing." She answered softly.

 

"Ok... Hey, look over there. There's smoke." Chris then saw from afar.

 

"It must be that Inn that Dobermon told us about. How about we stay there for the rest of the night, since it's getting late?" Hasan then implied.

 

"That's a good idea. Let's go." BlackWarGreymon answered and led the way. They arrived a few moments later and found that it was indeed an inn, with something else included with it.

 

"Welcome to the DigiTama Spa. Spa?" Hasan read the inn banner and wondered.

 

"This is great! I like spas! Let's try it!" Chris excitedly said.

 

"Why not? We're here after all." BlackWarGreymon shrugged. They soon entered the inn and found the reception completely empty.

 

"Hello?" Hasan called out. "Looks like no body... whoops!" He then yelped in a surprise when a small Digitamamon walked between his legs.

 

"Oh Happy me! Costumers! I haven't had any for months!" The Digitamamon said happily.

 

"Hm, don't tell me. You’re the owner of this place, right? Gee, am I the only one who sees a pattern here?" Chris shook his head.

 

"You got it! So, what can I do... Jeebes! You're BlackWarGreymon!" Digitamamon was overly stunned when he laid his eyes on the Black Hero.

 

"Oh boy..." BlackWarGreymon sighed.

 

"I can't believe it! What an honor to have you in my inn, Mr.BlackWarGreymon!"

 

"I'm thrilled, but if you keep mumbling around like this, we'll leave."

 

"Oh no, Please! Stay! It's all in the house!"

 

"Gosh, thanks. So much for Dobermon's recommendation, looks like we won't need it." Hasan chuckled.

Later that night, at the tree house...

 

Leomon was doing some hard training, punching a large tree with his fists near the tree house. He gave it some strong knuckles before going down in half. He grumbled irritably, he wanted to train with something that would withstand more. He switched to another tree, but the same thing happened, cutting it with a few punches of his. He gave up shortly and decided to do some pushups. During the middle of his 50^th push, a slim shadow appeared before him. He stopped and looked up, realizing it was Renamon.

 

"Trying to keep in shape?" She smiled at him.

 

"Yeah... not having a good time though." He answered, panting slightly.

 

"I see. How about a break? Here, I brought you this," Renamon showed him a plate, with some bread and water on it. She was also holding a towel over her wrist.

 

"Thanks." He thanked her and sat on the ground, taking the towel and wiping away his sweat. Renamon sat next to him, putting the plate in front of him. Leomon finished his meal fast, but he didn't continue his training and sat for a bit with Renamon under the stars. A few moments passed with neither of them saying a word.

 

"Leomon?" Renamon spoke at last. He simply turned to her in response. "What would you think... if I..." she hesitated.

 

"If you're scared?" Leomon said. Renamon was surprised; he really does read her like an open book.

 

"Yes..." She nodded. "What if we didn't find them? What if Reapermon suddenly appeared? I don't think I have a chance if I fought him. I'm scared of losing. I'm scared of losing my partner. I'm scared of everything... I'm scared of losing you." Renamon expressed in anguished, wrapping her arms around herself. "You're right, what you said about me. I'm nothing but a weakling."

 

Leomon let out a soft chuckle. "Heh, if you think that being scared makes you a weakling, then I must be the weakest Digimon in existence." He remarked as Renamon looked at him with a puzzled look. "Listen Renamon. Everybody get scared. I for one get scared the whole time. I might not show it, but this is the truth. I'm so scared about Chris' condition that I could barely think straight. But that doesn't make me a weakling, nor does it make you. Do you know why?" he asked her as she shook her head. "Because we have hope. Hope is the only thing we need to cling on for us go on. The only thing we can do now is hope that we find them soon. So, it's okay if you get scared, as long as it doesn't overcome you." Leomon's words struck Renamon, making her believe in herself more than ever.

 

She smiled joyfully and embraced his arm, "Thank you, Leomon."

 

"And we shouldn't worry about our partners. Although I hate to admit it, if BlackWarGreymon was with them, then they should be fine." Leomon then mentioned, Renamon giggling slightly by that.

 

"You're right!" She agreed cheerily. "Okay, how about we do some training? I'll be your sparring partner." She then said promptly.

 

"Are you sure? I won't go easy on you."

 

"And I don't expect any less. Come on! I'll show you what I'm really made of!" Renamon stood up and took a battle stance. Leomon dusted his hands off and prepared for her to make the first move. She dashed at him with punch which he easily avoided.

 

"Your stamina is good, but you lack concentration. Try not rushing in, and stay focus." Leomon advised her. "Like this!" He then quickly countered with a left hook. That overtook her, but she managed to block it in time and went for a direct hit to his face. Leomon saw this and grabbed her fist, pulling her closer. He held her for a bit, glaring at her, then without any warning, locked her into a kiss. Renamon was stunned by his daring move, but she didn't protest and returned the kiss.

 

"So romantic..." Gatomon sighed, watching the two warriors from above at the tree house balcony.

 

"Hey, Gatomon, whatcha' doing?" Kumamon then surprised her, entering the balcony. "What are you looking at?" He said and looked down. He then quickly blushed. "Errr, I don't think it polite to spy on them like this Gatomon." He coyly said to her.

 

"I know, but I couldn't help it. Just look at them." Gatomon said wistfully.

 

"I'm hardly trying not to." Kumamon said, covering his eyes.

 

"Oh my, I wish if I could have that kind of love..." She then sighed again, resting her cheek on her palm. Kumamon's eyes sparkled immediately when he heard that. He thought that this the perfect chance for him to tell Gatomon about his feeling towards her. He gathered his courage and slowly swept closer to her. He then took off his cap and took a deep breath.

 

"Gatomon." Kumamon called her and she turned to him. He stared at her and quickly panicked, thinking that he might've made a big mistake.

 

"What is it, Kumamon?"

 

"Uhhh... It's... It's about... I want to say... to say that I... like..." Kumamon murmured uncontrollably.

 

"Like what?"

 

"Oh, get a grip and say it!" Pumpkinmon then angered at him. He and the others were watching from the balcony door the whole time.

 

"What are you all doing there!?" Kumamon madly shouted.

 

"Oops!"

 

"Nice going, pumpkin head!" Terriermon said.

 

"Hey, someone had to give him a push!" Pumpkinmon replied.

 

"Graah! Get outta here!"

 

"Hehe, you heard him boys. Give the tike some privacy." Ben chuckled and pulled his Digimon friends away.

 

"Wait! I wanna see!" Lillymon said.

 

"Idiots snoopers." Kumamon grumbled under his breath.

 

"What was that all about? Do you have something to say to me?" Gatomon wondered.

 

Kumamon finally decided to say it no matter what'll happen and faced Gatomon. He held her paws and looked her in the eyes. "Gatomon, I wanted t say that I..."

 

"Yes?"

 

"Argh, Damn! Why is it this hard to say that I love you?" Kumamon cursed, not realizing what he just said.

 

"You love me!?" Gatomon then gasped.

 

"Oh, uhmm, yeah... that what I said." Kumamon nervously said. "Silly, right?" he then timidly laughed, shutting his eyes and waiting for her to snap at him.

 

"Oh, Kumamon!" Gatomon pulled him into a tight snug, looking extremely happy. "I've been waiting for so long for you to confess this to me!"

 

"Wh-what? You have?"

 

"Of course! I love you too, Kumamon!"

 

"That's great! So, you don't mind if we officially become... Y'know, boyfriend and girlfriend?" he then proposed.

 

"I'd love too!"

 

"Oh yeah!" Kumamon danced in joy with Gatomon.

 

"Kumamon... how you give that first kiss now?" Gatomon then blushed.

 

"Huh? Uhm, sure." Kumamon weared his cap again and prepared to kiss her. she closed her eyes and waited for him to make the move. He was shaking nervously, but then he nodded and pulled her closer, nearing his muzzle to her. Just when they were about to connect, the balcony door stormed open and the others all fell on top of each others.

 

"Oh! Oops... again." Pumpkinmon nervously uttered.

 

"Dammit! Can't anyone have some privacy 'round here?" Kumamon was frowning furiously.

At the Digitama inn, our friends were at a dinner table filled with different kinds of foods and meals. Hasan and Chris each had his own sauna and shower break before and they're dying to fill their stomachs.

 

"Nothing better than a nice meal after a refreshing shower." Chris remarked in content.

 

"You said it Chris. This is the first time I used a sauna, and boy was it great! It completely eases you." Hasan followed, stretching his arms.

 

"I'm very pleased that it got your satisfactions. Now, would you mind if I asked you a favor?" Digitamamon then asked.

 

"Sure, what do you want?"

 

"Well, I was planing to go out and get some supplies for the inn, but I was delaying it for a while because I don't want to leave this place unattended."

 

"Are you implying that you'd leave this place under our custody?" BlackWarGreymon stated.

 

"Why yes! That's exactly what I was planing to ask! I won't have to worry about leaving my inn if it was under your hands. So, would you, please?" Digitamamon then bowed humbly.

 

"Hmmm, if you want to, I don't see why not?" BlackWarGreymon then replied.

 

"Oh, Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!" said Digitamamon joyfully.

 

"Not at all, we do have to thank you somehow for your kindness, and this is the perfect way to do so." Angewomon smiled.

 

"Angewomon is right, we'd be happy to." Chris said.

 

"Thank you. Okay, I'll be going now. I'll return next thing in the morning, so don't hesitate in using any of the facilities here. Enjoy your meal!" Digitamamon excused himself and soon left.

 

"That's a pretty nice gesture of him. Well, let's eat!" Hasan said cheerily and they began to eat their dinner. After about an hour, they finished and decided to go to bed.

 

"Boy… I'm stuffed."

 

"And I'm getting sleepy. I'll go right to bed." Chris said.

 

"Wait, I'm coming with you. What about you two?" Hasan turned to BlackWarGreymon and Angewomon.

 

"I think I'll take a shower." Angewomon answered.

 

"Uh, me too. Night and see you in the morning." BlackWarGreymon said and hastily headed to the men's section. Hasan and Chris stared at him strangely for a bit before shrugging and then helped Angewomon clean the table. They both then went upstairs for the bedrooms after that, leaving Angewomon alone at the kitchen.

 

She thought about taking her shower now, but then declined and thought that a sauna would be a better choice first. She went to the ladies' locker room and changed her clothes to only a towel to cover her. She headed to the sauna room and it was completely empty obviously. The steam was already on so the place was totally foggy. She quickly felt relaxed and sat down on a marble seat, enjoying the soothing sensation.

 

After a couple of minutes, she felt another presence in the room. She stood up slowly and looked around her, but the vision wasn't clear due to the steam. "Hello?" she called out, hoping she won't get a response.

 

"It's me, Angie." Angewomon gasped softly when she heard BlackWarGreymon's voice speak. She couldn't see him clearly, but it was apparent that it was him, as she saw a black, tall figure approaching her. He soon came into view, standing in front of her, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist and a smile.

 

BlackWarGreymon was gazing at her heartily, examining her beautiful features. Her long, blonde hair that reached down to the end of her back. Her delicate, milky white smooth skin. Her perfectly gorgeous face, with the dazzling blue eyes. He had never seen such a natural beauty before, and it was taking his breath away. They both just stared at each other silently; time seemed like it had been frozen. Until BlackWarGreymon reached out his hand to touch her.

 

"No!" Angewomon pushed his hands to the side crossly.

 

BlackWarGreymon was stunned by her reaction. "A-Angi-" he uttered timidly.

 

"What do you want from me?!" she sternly yelled at him.

 

"I… I just… missed you. And…"

 

"And what?! You think that I'll just forget about it? You think that you can just walk away from me and simply come back, just because you missed me?" Angewomon continued to yell at him harshly, not a leaving a chance for him to say anything, not that he had anything good to say. He simply looked at her sadly; knowing that what she just said was nothing but the truth. He's the one who couldn't keep their relationship flourish in the past, with the excuse of him not being ready for it. That broke Angewomon's heart back then, and it seemed that her wound hasn't been healed yet.

 

"I'm sorry Angie. For everything. But please hear me out, just this once." BlackWarGreymon said to her. "I know that I didn't take us seriously in the past, that's my only regret. I knew that I loved you, truly loved you, but that wasn't enough for you I suppose. When we broke up, I thought that I can live through without us being together, and I believed that I could do it as long as we're still close friends. That is until I discovered that Leomon is beginning to steal you from me. That's when I realized what I was losing. I was losing the only female that I truly loved. I know that it's no excuse, and you have the right to forget about me and love someone else. I'm sorry about this, I didn't mean not to take you for granted." BlackWarGreymon confessed to her with everything that he had in his heart, his eyes filled with a mix of love and sorrow.

 

Angewomon didn't know what to think or do. She had never seen BlackWarGreymon this honest with her before. She wanted to believe every word he just said, yet she wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do. "Black… I…" Angewomon uttered in confusion, not knowing what she's supposed to say.

 

"You don't have to say or do anything. I'll just leave. But…" BlackWarGreymon said and moved closer to her, resting his big hands on her shoulders. "Can I have this last kiss?" He gently asked of her, a small smile spreading on his face.

"Hey! Are you okay, you guys!?" Lillymon loudly called out, looking down at the pit.

 

"We're here!" They both heard Renamon's voice call back. They searched around the wide pit and finally saw them, hanging for dear life. Leomon was clutching on a rocky ledge with one hand, holding Renamon's arm with his other while she was grabbing Gomamon's tail.

 

"Please help us, FAST!" Gomamon yelped desperately, dangling up side down. The pit was so deep; he couldn't even see the bottom.

 

"I'm coming! Hang on! Literally!" Lillymon said and flew down to rescue them.

 

Soni was watching from above the crack, not knowing the dangerous situation he's in. Before he realized it, the edge he was sitting on began to crumple. "Oh, Shit! Lil- Aaaaaahh!" he tried to back off but was too late and ended up falling down the pit himself.

 

"SONI!!" Lillymon shrieked when she saw he partner fall to his doom, flying to him as fast as her wings could flap to save him. "I got you, Soni!" She succeeded in grabbing his right hand just in time.

 

"Whew! That was a close… huh?" Soni uttered as the gauntlet he was wearing began to glow brightly.

 

"Soni! The gauntlet!" Lillymon gasped. The gauntlet shined more and began to transfer from Soni's arm to Lillymon's body as some kind of energy.

 

"What?" Leomon exclaimed, watching the event while still hanging on the ledge nad keeping his grip on Renamon.

 

"What's going on?!" Renamon wondered.

 

"I can't see! It's too bright!" Gomamon covered his eyes with his flippers, the glowing lighting up the whole pit.

 

"Ha! Hurry up, you Dumbone! You better move faster if you wanna catch us!" Terriermon was on top of Ben's shoulder, taunting SkullGreymon while running away from him.

 

"Can't you do anything else beside mocking him! We can't run away from him forever…" Ben griped, panting slightly from jogging all that time.

 

"Huh? Are you telling me to fight that thing!? No way! He'll eat me up like candy and still want more!"

 

"What?! Weren't you the one who was so excited to battle him?"

 

"Who said anything about battling? I thought that you'll think of something to get us out of this jam like you always do!"

 

"What the Fu-!? Ackh!" Ben suddenly tripped by a tree log and fell onward. Terriermon bounced off him when he hit the ground.

 

"Ben! You're ok? Get up, we have to move!" Terriermon urged him as the SkullGreymon was approaching them fast.

 

"Okay… Ouch! What?" Ben tried to stand up but found out that his left foot was stuck inside the tree log. "Argh, This is just Great! Dammit! C'mon!" Ben was pulling his leg out of the log but was having difficulty and was making it worse it instead.

 

"Don't move, Ben! Bunny Blast!" Terriermon told him and shot a small blast to blow up the wooden log without harming his partner. He did it successfully and freed Ben, but that's when SkullGreymon had already caught up with them, looking down at them furiously. "Oooh dear… What to do now?" Terriermon gulped in fear. Ben was thinking of a way to overcome this crisis, but he didn't find any.

 

"I don't know, Terriermon. I think this is it." Ben said in despair.

 

"What? No! We can still fight Ben! I'll protect you! We won't give up this easily!" Terriermon bravely said and stood before him.

 

"Terr… Right! Let's get him!" Ben excitedly uttered. SkullGreymon let out a growl and lifted his giant foot to stomp them. "But we have to survive this first! Whoa!" Ben yelped and jumped to the side to avoid the heavy stomp. Terriermon also managed to stay out of its way and attacked with his Terrier Torpedo. He slammed his spinning body into SkullGreymon's knee in an attempt to stumble him but he was too heavy to do so. "Owww!" Terriermon bounced back when he hit the knee and was pushed back into a tree, crashing hard.

 

"Terriermon!" Ben rushed to his partner and held him in his arms. "Tell me you're not hurt!"

 

"Ouuhh… I would be lying to ya if I did. Ben! Look out!" Terriermon shouted when he saw SkullGreymon swinging his tail at them. Thanks to Terriermon's warning, Ben hopped forward and barely made it, but the impact that attack made blew him a few feet more, hitting the ground hard with a grunt.

 

"Ugh! Now that hurts…" Ben agonized. He quickly stood up despite the slight pain and tried to continue running, only to fall again. "I don't think… We can go on like this…" Panted Ben, still holding the injured Terriermon in his arms.

 

"I'm sorry Ben. I'm nothing but a weak partner. I can't even protect you." Terriermon wearily said.

 

"Shut up, stupid! Don't ever say that!" Ben yelled at him.

 

"But Ben…" Terriermon uttered when Ben's gauntlet began to shine. "Ben! Look!"

 

"What the…? What's happening to the gauntlet!?" Ben exclaimed surprisingly. It shined brighter as energy began to come out from it and surround Terriermon.

 

"Aaah! What's going?!" Terriermon yelped.

 

"It's working! Calm down, Terriermon. Let it flow into you." Ben told him as the strange energy was transferring into Terriermon's body. SkullGreymon was watching the event oddly and got tired of it, trying to attack them while they were vulnerable. He lifted his foot to stomp them again, but before he could, a flaming projectile struck him in his face and prevented him. He snarled madly and looked around for the interceptor, finding the rest of their friends in their flesh before him.

 

"Bulls eye, Leomon!" Gomamon cheered.

 

"You keep your skeletal claws off my friends!" Lillymon angered and flew straight at SkullGreymon's direction.

 

"Lillymon! Wait!" Renamon called out but she didn't listen.

 

"Don't bother Renamon; she's unstoppable when she's mad." Soni said in confidence. "Let's just wait and see what she's capable of."  And they watched the battle with no further discussion.

 

The bright light that was surrounding Ben and Terriermon then faded away, along with the gauntlet that Ben was wearing. It simply disappeared. "What happened?" Ben wondered.

 

"I have no idea, but I can tell you this: I Feel I'm Stronger Like Tenfold!" Terriermon enthusiastically said.

 

"Really? That's way cool, Terriermon! Pumpkinmon's prediction was correct after all. But how?"

 

"Who cares? Now we have a great chance to beat that monster! Let's give Lillymon a hand!" Terriermon clapped his paws together and a spark fired out from them. "Whoa! What was that!?" Terriermon tried again but with more force and some kind of electric aura emitted around his arms. It's then materialized into big portable gattling guns, strapped into his arms. "Awright! This is sweet!"

 

"Awesome trick buddy! Now you have Gargomon's Gattling Arms! Let's try'em!"

 

"Right on! I'm gonna fill him with holes! No one holds me back!" Terriermon grew quite excited and was ready to face SkullGreymon, who was being beaten up by Lillymon during all that. She kept hovering around him in blitzing speed, throwing strong punches and kicks in different spots.

 

"Woohoo! I love this new power! He can't even see me!" Lillymon cheerily said. The gauntlet power granted her great strength and speed. 

 

"Ben, left me up so I can get a nice clear shot at him." Terriermon told his partner. Ben complied and picked him up high. Terriermon pointed his gattling arms at the confused SkullGreymon and prepared to fire. "Eat this!" He aimed up and shot his onslaught of bullets. The mighty force of the attack caused Ben to fall backward on his back, still carrying Terriermon as he kept shooting. The strong bullets showered at SkullGreymon from below all the way to the top, damaging him badly. He growled in agony as major parts of his skeleton got shattered instantly.

 

"Hey! Watch where you point that thing!" Lillymon frowned, avoiding some of the bullets that were accidentally shot at her. That made her lower her guard and didn't see the frenetic skeletal claw that was swinging randomly towards her. "Oh, dam- Eyaah!" Lillymon cried when SkullGreymon knocked her and slammed her hard at the ground.

 

"Lillymon!" Soni yelled and ran to her side with the rest.

 

"Terr-Terriermon! Tha-That's' eno-enough! S-Sto-Stop Firing!"

 

"I'm Trying to! Stop, Goddammit, Stop!!" Terriermon wasn't able to stop the gattling as it went out of control. He just kept shooting at SkullGreymon until he destroyed one of his arms. The beast screeched loudly as his left arm got shattered into data bits. That's when the gattling arms finally came to a halt. "Eh? It's stopped."

 

"About time!" Ben said. SkullGreymon then growled in anger and was determined to kill them now. He walked toward their way slowly, pieces of him crumbling into the ground but that didn't stop him.

 

"Terriermon, he's coming! Do something! Fire that thing!" Ben panicked.

 

Terriermon aimed his guns and tried to shoot, but nothing was coming out except a click sound. "Oops… out of ammo!"

 

"WHAT!?"

 

"Lillymon, you're okay?" Gomamon said to her.

 

"Ow… that idiot! I'll show him! Outta my way!" Lillymon was fired up and they simply stepped away from her.

 

"What are you gonna do?" Soni asked.

 

"I'm going to finish this once and for all! Stand back!" Lillymon said and readied her Flower Canon. But instead shooting her usual blast, she's charging it up. "Hey! What's wrong with this thing!?" Lillymon cried in confusion. Her canon kept charging up with strong energy for a considerable period of time and she didn't have any control of it.

 

"Lillymon!  Just fire it!" Soni yelled at her.

 

"Ben! Terriermon! Get out of the way!  She's gonna blow!" Gomamon warned them from afar.

 

"Who's gonna...? Oh-uh! C'mon, Terriermon!" Ben frantically picked his partner and dashed as fast as he could from out of the firing range.

 

"Now, Lilly!"  Soni commanded her.

 

"Here goes nothing... Flower Can- Eeek!" She fired and an enormous energy beam blasted from her canon that caused her to back off roughly, but Leomon came in time and held her put firmly so she can keep her balance. The strong beam launched straight at the helpless SkullGreymon and totally engulfed him in a second. Luckily for Ben and Terriermon, they got away unscratched in right time thanks to Gomamon. SkullGreymon was screeching loudly as he was beginning to vaporized within the powerful beam. But before he got demolished into bits, he launched the big missile that's strapped by his back as a last resort to kill them. It flew up in the sky and then began to bomb down at their zone.

 

"It's coming right for us!" Ben desperately yelled. But then…

 

"Terra Destroyer!!!" The huge missile exploded in the air away from their harm by a red energy ball. They all knew who it was that had saved them and looked up, seeing BlackWarGreymon floating, holding his attack stance.

 

"BlackWarGreymon! That's means…" Soni uttered.

 

"Hi there." Hasan appeared beside him and greeted.

 

"Hey! You're finally here! Nice to see you man!" Soni shook Hasan's hand, very thrilled.

 

"Hey Ben!" Ben heard Chris say from behind as he turned around and saw him standing with Angewomon.

 

"Oh, Chris! You're okay, buddy!" Ben ran to him and held his shoulders, shaking him roughly. "Where the HELL have you been?!"

 

"Go easy on him, Ben!" Terriermon said told him.

 

"I'm just so glad to see you!" Ben happily said.

 

"Y-yeah… me too." Chris smiled.

 

"Hasan!!" Gomamon chirped in joy as he ran towards his partner.

 

"Gomamon! Come over here pal!" Hasan crouched down as Gomamon jumped at him and cuddled him tightly.

 

"Oh boy! Am I glad to see you! I was so worried about you!"

 

"Me too, Gomamon."

 

"I did pretty good on my own and was very dependable!" Gomamon said proudly.

 

"Pretty Cool, I'm proud of you!" Hasan petted him on his head and then looked around, searching for someone. "Ah, Renamon!" He put down Gomamon and stood up, seeing Renamon quietly standing before him with a troubled look. "Why the long face? I was looking forward to one of your killing hugs." Hasan said to her with a smile. Renamon then began to shed tears and her expression changed to a happy one.

 

"Oh, Hasan…!" she rushed to him and embraced him snugly. "I was so frightened that I won't see you again! I'm so relieved! Please, don't stay away from me again." She sobbed slightly, pressuring her arms around him more.

 

"Ugh, that's more like it." Hasan grunted, before he returned the hug. "You don't have to worry anymore, I'm back, and I don't intend to leave."

 

"I'll make sure of that." Renamon smiled.

 

"Count me in!" Gomamon jumped joyfully.

 

As for Chris, he walked over to his partner, who just sheathed back his sword and turned to face him. "Hi Leomon, I'm finally back." Chris simply looked up to him and said.

 

"Yeah… partner." Leomon answered back and then kneeled down to him, covering him between his big arms him and pulling him into a warm hug. Chris put his arms around his neck and returned the nice hug. "Finally…" Leomon uttered, a mix of comfort and sadness tones in his voice. "I'm so sorry."

 

 "Huh? For what?" Chris wondered, sensing that Leomon was almost crying. 

 

"I promised you that I'll always be by your side, but I failed." Leomon softly muttered.

 

"Not at all! We were always together, even if we were apart. I'm just glad that you're okay, not that there were any need to worry about you. And Black did a great job of protecting us." Chris said, getting Leomon's attention to BlackWarGreymon.

 

"That's an impressive trick you did there." BlackWarGreymon was complimenting a blushing Lillymon.

 

"Thank you! And you made it just in time to save us!" She giggled as he laughed.

 

"Ha, sure thing. I always arrive at the neck of time."

 

"Black and I solved that matter and now we're closer than ever. He even wanted to become my partner, a second one anyway. And I… accepted. I hope you're not mad." Chris then timidly said. Leomon stared at him strangely, but then chuckled and ruffled his hair.

 

"Heh, of course not. But he better not believe he'll become your real partner, 'cause there's only one place for that role." Leomon said as Chris laughed by that. Leomon then stood up and headed to BlackWarGreymon and faced him. The glared at each other seriously for a bit before Leomon spoke, "Thank you for taking care of them."

 

BlackWarGreymon looked back at him with a grin, "Hey, nothing to thank for. I did what I had to do and was determined to bring'em back safely. I'm the one who should apologize for the way I was acting. No hard feelings, I hope."

 

"No hard feelings." Leomon raised his right hand to shake as BlackWarGreymon returned the shake willingly.

 

"This is really wonderful." Angewomon said happily. "Anyway, how about a small break so we can catch up on everything?" she then suggested.

 

"Good idea, Angewomon. And I have some food here." Chris said.

 

"Goody! I haven't eaten anything good since we left the Digimon Town!" Gomamon exclaimed.

 

"Still a food muncher, eh Gomamon?" Hasan remarked as they laughed.

 

After the nice reunion, they gathered around and talked about their events, while Chris shared the food that Digitamamon gave him to his friends. But, unbeknownst to most of them, there were four Digimon that weren't so comfortable during this meeting. It was really an awkward situation to all of Renamon, Leomon, BlackWarGreymon and Angewomon, gathered together at the same place and not knowing about how they'll tell to each of their love interest the truth of their feelings. 

 

"Oh, darn! You met Kumamon? I really wanted to see him!" Hasan griped when they told them about the trio treasure hunters.

 

"They were a nice bunch." Terriermon said.

 

"And you finally defeated that damn Cerberemon, huh?" Hasan then turned to Renamon.

 

"Yes. It was tough, but we've beaten him in the end, thanks to Leomon." Renamon answered.

 

"Come again!? Did I hear say 'thanks to Leomon'?"

 

"Uhm, well, yes…"

 

"Whoa! Now that's new!" Hasan exclaimed surprisingly and made her blush slightly. 

 

"What about Machinedramon? How did beat a menace like him?" Soni then asked.

 

"We had some help. A Dobermon came and give us a hand. If it weren't for him, we wouldn't be here now." Chris explained.

 

"Yep, and Black was really incredible! He turned that robotic beast into little screws. But he had a rough time, until Angewomon came and saved the day." Hasan was telling them enthusiastically.

 

"That must've been exciting. But I'm really getting tired from all those battles." Ben stated.

 

"It'll all end soon, Ben. We almost made it." Terriermon encouraged him.

 

"Terriermon's right, so let's get a move on. Now that's we're all together again, the only thing we have to worry about is when we face Reapermon." Soni then pointed out. They agreed and prepared to continue their journey towards the mountain. All seemed normal to the most of them, but for some, it was uneasy to travel close to each other like this. Renamon was walking beside her partner, not sure that she has the courage to tell BlackWarGreymon the truth. She didn't even try to look at him, warningly keeping her sight away from him. It was somewhat the same case with Angewomon, who was at the end of the party. Everytime she laid her eyes at Leomon she gets very doubtful. Was it really the right decision? To confess to him that she's finally back with her previous boyfriend after all what happened between her and him? It was really confusing her and she feared to think what the consequences would be. It wasn't that different with both Leomon and BlackWarGreymon as they're almost had the same problem. They both had a relationship going with the same two females they fell in love with in the past, so technically they both cheated on his supposed love interest. Neither of them thought about what will do about it and they basically did they best to avoid contact with each other. The situation was so awkward, that even their human friends began to notice their strange behaviors. 

 

Nightfall arrived before they reached their goal, so they decided that it's best to stop for the night and continue tomorrow morning. They all gathered and camped for what they hoped to be their last night before reaching the mountain. Chris and Ben prepared a small meal for them all and enjoyed it together.

 

"Well, I think this is it you guys." Hasan said.

 

"This might be our last night here in the Digital World." Ben stated.

 

"We sure came a long way to reach this point and now that we're here, I still feel that... I don’t know. I feel that we still haven't accomplished anything yet." Chris said in distress.

 

"I know what you mean. There's still lotsa of unanswered questions. But who knows? Maybe it'll all clear out once we meet Reapermon." Soni replied.

 

"Yeah! We're finally here! Isn't this what you all wanted from the start?" Gomamon casually asked.

 

"I guess... What do you think, Renamon?" Hasan turned to her and asked, but he didn't get any response. "Hello? Renamon?"

 

"Huh? What was that?" He finally got her attention as she snapped out from her lost mind.

 

"I was asking you, what do you think about all of this?"

 

"All of what?"

 

"Oh geez..." Hasan slapped his face. "Are you okay?"

 

"Me? Oh, yeah... I was just thinking about someon- I-I mean something!" Renamon nervously murmured.

 

"Oh, 'K." Hasan was sure that something was bothering Renamon, but he didn't wish to ask her now and thought that he best saves it for later. They ended their  discussion at that and decided to crash. "I'll go get some more firewood for the night. Will you come, Renamon?" Hasan than said.

 

"Uhm sure." She stood up and accompanied her partner while the rest tried to rest. They both went to gather some wood in the jungle, but then Hasan stopped collecting and turned to her.

 

"I think that's enough hiding."

 

"What?"

 

"Come on, Renamon. I might be a bit naïve, but I'm not that oblivious. There's something you've been hiding from me for a long time, ever since that time we where at the Digimon Town. I've been avoiding asking you about it, but not any more." Hasan bluntly confronted Renamon, stunning her a bit.

 

"I... I..."

 

"Yes?"

 

"I... can't..."

 

"I see... So, you don’t trust me enough to tell me."

 

"No! That's not it!"

 

"Then what?"

 

"It's... There's something I got to deal with by myself first. It's something that concerns me. I'd really want to let you know, but I can't at the moment. Please understand, Hasan. It's not because I don't trust you, you know that, right?" Renamon explained.

 

Hasan was still disappointed, but he completely understood her case. "Fine, you win. I won't insist more. But, just to let you know, whatever happens, you can always count on me for support." Hasan gently said with a smile. Renamon held his hands in her paws in return in content.

 

"I know, I know that you're always gonna be by my side. Thank you for understanding." She said and held his hand firmly.

 

"Hey, no problem. What are friends for? Ah, speaking of friends, here comes one right now. Hi, Black." Hasan then remarked when he saw BlackWarGreymon coming there way.  Renamon felt anxious when Hasan called his name, not looking back at him yet. "What brings you here? Can't sleep?"

 

"Kinda. But I was actually looking for your partner. Can we talk for a bit, in private? I won't take long." BlackWarGreymon stated, referring to Renamon.

 

"Oh, sure, if it's okay with her." Hasan replied and looked back at Renamon. She was still worried to face BlackWarGreymon alone, but she thought this would happen sooner and later.

 

"Yes, it's alright. Pease wait for me there." She answered him with a nod. Hasan nodded back and shortly left them alone to have their private chat. They watched Hasan till he disappeared and changed their sight back to each other. They kept this silence for some minutes, neither of them saying a word. BlackWarGreymon then began to walk closer to her until he was one foot in front of her.

 

"Renamon..." He finally opened his mouth. "Listen, there's something I want you to know." BlackWarGreymon didn't want to keep this from her any longer and went straight to the point. What he didn't know is that she also had something important to tell him.

 

"Oh, m-me too. I've something to tell you as well. But... Oh dear..." Renamon hesitated and turned her face away, not having enough courage to confess to him. BlackWarGreymon placed his one hand on her shoulder and used the other to left up his chin to face him.

 

"Is it about us?" He softly asked, staring into her eyes. She got even more anxious when he said that and back away from him. BlackWarGreymon was puzzled by her reaction. He began to think that she might've known about him and Angewomon somehow. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to hurt you." BlackWarGreymon hastily predicted and said to her.

 

"Hurt me? What do you mean?" Renamon asked in wonder.

 

"Because I'm back with Angewomon, isn't this what you wanted to...?"

 

"What?!" Renamon suddenly gasped. "How... How could this...? When did you...?" she uncontrollably muttered.

 

BlackWarGreymon panicked, he immediately knew he made a mistake by telling her this fast and that he jumped to conclusions. "Renamon, listen, it was beyond my hand. I always believed that I was over her, especially after I met you again. But then, when I was with her in these few past days, I realized that my love for her never died. Please believe me, I wasn't..."

 

"Enough!" Renamon interrupted him harshly.

 

"Renamon... I..."

 

"How could you? I thought... I believed that you... Oh god..." Renamon began to sob, kneeling down on her knees. BlackWarGreymon truly felt bad about himself. He didn't think it would come to this. He crouched to her and tried to comfort her.

 

"Renamon, don't..."

 

"Don't touch me!" She pushed away his hand when he tried to touch her.

 

"Renamon..."

 

"Leomon was right! You were just taking advantage of me! Oh, Black, how could you?!" Renamon yelled at him crossly.

 

"Leomon? What does Leomon have to do with this?" BlackWarGreymon strictly uttered and brought her back to what she was planning to reveal.

 

"I... I didn't know how I could tell you this before, but... Leomon and I..." she began to admit despite the odds. "When we were separated, Leomon was the only one who was by my side. He was so caring and gentle to me, even risking his life for me. I was gradually having feelings for him." BlackWarGreymon was hearing in disbelief, already picturing what would she be telling him now. "Then, one thing led to another, and... we made love with each other."

 

"You what...?!"

 

"Yes, he made love to me. That's when I realized that Leomon's the one I truly love the whole time." Renamon confessed. BlackWarGreymon was incredibly stunned by the revelation. How could this have happened? And why Leomon? He almost took Angewomon from him, and now the female that was inevitably his lover not so long ago. The fact that Leomon slept with Renamon from behind his back made him feel that he's been cheated on, regardless of the his true feelings towards Angewomon. BlackWarGreymon couldn't help but feel enraged for some reasons and he couldn't held in his anger.

 

"Are you saying that you slept with him despite us being together at the time? How could this happen? How could you give up on me this fast?! Weren't you in love with me before?!" BlackWarGreymon questioned her, demanding answers. Renamon felt his anger building up in him, but he she thought that he had no right to question her in that manner like he didn't commit anything wrong himself. She glared back at him with determined eyes and asked him back.

 

"Why don't you ask yourself? Who's the one who lied about his feelings?! It was you! That night we spent it together… you said that you truly cared for me… but you didn't! What I doubted at the time was true after all… I'm nothing to you… nothing but a pleasure tool!" Renamon yelled in distress. She always doubted that BlackWarGreymon was really in love with her and now she thought why.

 

"No! You never were like that to me! How could you believe that I could do such a thing?!" BlackWarGreymon said protectively.

 

"Then why? Why did you lie to me?"

 

"I didn't lie, or at least I didn't intend to. Believe me Renamon; I wasn't trying to toy with you. I'm really fond of you, even now. But, I swear, I didn't realize that I still had feelings for Angewomon and now I'm sure of it. I didn't want to fool you any longer so I came to you now to clear it out." BlackWarGreymon sincerely uttered.

 

Renamon was very confused now. Even though there's a part of her that wanted to believe BlackWarGreymon, she mostly lost the will to trust him again. "I don't think… I can believe in you anymore." She told him in sorrow as BlackWarGreymon was simply devastated by that.

 

"Renamon! Don't let it end like this! We can still work this out!" BlackWarGreymon held her arms and said desperately. Renamon didn't reply with anything, only turning her face to the side, not wanting to look at him. That caused BlackWarGreymon to burn up furiously. "Dammit, Renamon! All this because of that miserable Leomon!" He heatedly spoke, tightening his grip on her.

 

"Black! Let me go, you're hurting me!" Renamon cried.

 

"What about you then?! If you're so distressed about what happened between us, how dare you have a relationship with him!? That doesn't make any sense!" BlackWarGreymon then pointed out.

 

"I… I was…"

 

"See? It isn't so easy when the tables are turned, eh? Or aren't you sure about him either?" BlackWarGreymon's anger was overcoming him, as he was harshly talking down at her.

 

"Shut up! It's not…"

 

"Seems to me that you have a problem picking your guy, Renamon. If this was truly the case, then you're hardly worth the trouble." He then lowly said to her, outraging Renamon extremely and ending up giving him a hard slap on his left cheek.

 

"Don't you Ever disrespect me!" She cried at his face after slapping him hard. The painful slap drove BlackWarGreymon mad even more, losing control over his own self. He lifted his hand to strike her back, but the sight of her helplessly struggling to free herself from his strong hold brought him back to his senses.

 

"What the hell am I doing!?" he said to himself and lowered the hand that was going to hit her. "Renamon… I'm so sorry, I didn't mean…" he regretfully uttered, holding her between his arms and bringing her closer to him. Renamon couldn't believe what BlackWarGreymon just did.

 

"Oh, Black… Just Leave Me Alone!" she backed off him and wept, running away and leaving him behind in that pitty state. BlackWarGreymon couldn't comprehend any of what just happened. How could things get this complicated so quickly? His fists were shaking, anger still filling him. "BLOODY HELL!!" he growled madly and didn't find anything to punch except himself to vent off his fury.

During that, at the side of a nearby lake not so far away from where the group was camping, Chris was sitting there alone. He was relaxing there, simply sitting by the edge of the lake and enjoying the cold breeze. He picked up a small stone and threw it at the surface of the lake, aiming to toss it as far as possible. He managed to throw it a few feet into the lake before he heard a voice calling him from behind.

 

"That was a bad shot." Leomon said as he suddenly appeared.

 

"Heh, I'm out of practice." Chris chuckled. Leomon walked over to him and sat right next to his partner, dipping his big feet in the water.

 

"Haven't you learned yet that it's dangerous to be alone in a place like this?" Leomon told him in a strict manner and wrapped one arm around him, pulling him closer.

 

"Well, yeah, but I was just sitting around, nothing to worry about." Chris answered.

 

"Still, it's better not to wander about in the wild. It was enough that I was worried sick about you when were separated, I don't need anything else to worry me more."

 

"I'm sorry. I was worried about you too. Well, not much, 'cause I know you can perfectly take care of yourself." Chris chuckled, making Leomon smile and bringing him even closer, ruffling his hair with his hand. They were both very glad that they were together again now, especially Leomon, who regained his self-confidence. "But I still wonder how you were doing while stuck with Renamon all that time." Chris then casual remarked, over taking Leomon a bit.

 

"What do you mean?"

 

"You know, Renamon? I mean, I like her, but I can see that she doesn't feel the same about you. She must've given you a hard time, having to travel with her and all." Chris explained.

 

Leomon knew what he meant, but he wasn't sure if he should tell him what really happened, not at the time being. "Oh… Well, actually, she didn't." was the only the thing Leomon could answer. Chris wasn't satisfied with that and wanted to know more.

 

"Oh, Really? I wonder how's that possible…" Chris sheepishly said as Leomon got anxious and realized what he's aiming to. "Tell me, did something particular happened between you two while you were alone together?" Chris bluntly asked.

 

"Not really…" Leomon swallowed his throat with a teensy weensy shade of red that was visible under his furry cheeks.

 

"Aha! You're Blushing! Ha, this is the first time I see blush!" Chris laughed and made Leomon even blusher. "So, something did happen. Come on, tell me about it." Chris said in a demanding tone but Leomon didn't reply and kept silence. The matter was too delicate for him to bring up this easily and he didn't want to let his partner in it until he solves the deal by himself. "Hey, Leomon?"

 

"Hm?" Leomon heard Chris call him when he was lost in his thoughts.

 

"Why so quite all of the sudden? What's the matter?" Chris asked when he saw Leomon's pale face.

 

"No, it's nothing. You don't have to worry about it." Leomon answered with a fake beam.

 

"I'm not buying that crap one bit. Something's bothering you and I wanna know."

 

"I can't… not right now. It's something that doesn't involves you." Leomon tried to teach him out of it but made him more curious instead.

 

"No a chance! We're partners, so no secrets remember? C'mon, you have to spill it out." Chris stubbornly demanded.

 

"Oh boy…" Leomon sighed, trying to figure out a way to convince his nagging partner.

 

"You've got no choice but to confess. I won't stop bugging you until you do. That what you did to me last time, eh?" Chris grinned, reminding him of the time Leomon forced him into telling him about his problem with BlackWarGreymon.

 

"But I…"

 

"No buts. Just tell me everything." Chris stood up and faced Leomon strictly with his arms crossed. Leomon shook his head in distressed, realizing that there's no way out of his hardheaded partner's wrath. He almost confessed the whole thing to him if it wasn't for Angewomon, who came in just in time to interrupt.

 

"Hello." She greeted with her usual pretty smile as she passed by.

 

"Huh? Oh, hi Angewomon. Didn't see you coming." Chris replied, twisting around to face her.

 

"Uhm, I was just looking for Leomon. Looks like I came in a bad time." Angewomon coyly uttered, seeing how Leomon didn't even looked at her yet.

 

"Well, not really. We were just talking." Chris said.

 

"I see. So, you wouldn't mind if I borrowed him for a little?" Angewomon then requested as Leomon's ears perked up when he heard that.

 

"Awww, I guess so. Give us a second…" Chris retorted and moved closer to Leomon so he can whisper something to his ear. "You're lucky that Angewomon saved you this time, but you'll have to tell me sooner or later." Chris deviously whispered and gave him a pat on his shoulder. "He's all yours. G'night!" Chris then chirped and left them alone like he promised. Angewomon giggled slightly and stepped closer to Leomon.

 

"You have a really nice partner." She remarked cheerily.

 

"I know." Leomon simply replied, still sitting by the lake's edge. Angewomon sat down by the edge of the lake as well but not so close to him as was expected. A good full minute of eerie silence passed with neither of them daring to speak or even look at each other. Angewomon soon got weary of this odd atmosphere and broke the silence.

 

"Leomon…" She said to get his attention as Leomon titled to her direction. "I… I got to say something to you. I don't know if it's the right time to… but… it's very important and I don't want to hide it from you much longer." Angewomon wearily said, curling up her knees to her chest. Leomon could feel the severity of the matter she's hiding and thought about how he too has something uneasy to say to her.

 

"Angewomon, I have something to say to you as well. Something that concerns us." Leomon softly said. Angewomon was puzzled by what could that secret possibly be and sensed that it won't be very pleasant.

 

"Oh, what… What is it?" Angewomon wondered, not able to hide her anxiety. Leomon took a short deep breath before he unveiled the truth to her.

 

"Remember that time when you asked me if there was someone… important to me and I answered with no?"

 

"Yes…?" Angewomon replied, already conjuring up ideas of what he's about to say.

 

"I lied." Leomon simply uttered, surprising Angewomon greatly. Despite the fact that she saw that coming, she always believed that Leomon was in love with her and didn't care for anyone else in that way. She tried to collect her herself from the shock and to find out who was the one who he cared about, even if it was obvious.

 

"You lied… then who…?"

 

"I think you can have a good guess. You did nailed her last time." Leomon told her before she could even ask.

 

"You mean… Renamon." Angewomon softly said in an almost unbearable voice.

 

"Yeah, it's her. I didn't know it myself. I always tried to convince myself otherwise, that I'm not ready to engage in a serious relationship. I was denying it the whole time, but in reality, she was the only one I cared for so much to actually admit that I… love her." He confessed to her, stunning her about the truth of his feelings. But truthfully, she always had strong doubts about those two. Even if they acted as if there wasn't any intimacy between them, she always felt that there was actually something that connected them. "I'm sorry, I…" Leomon was saying when Angewomon cut him off.

 

"I think that's enough…" She said in a sorrowed manner. She was really emotionally hurt, she didn't want to hear any more of it. "I'm such a fool…" she then said about herself.

 

"Wha-? No, don't say that…"

 

"What do you know!? How could you know? I myself don't know anymore… I was forcing myself on a new love that wasn't meant to be while still holding on my previous one. What was I thinking?" Angewomon said in despair. Leomon wasn't getting what she meant as he moved closer to her.

 

"What are you trying to say?" He asked in a serious tone.

 

"I was trying to say from the start…" Angewomon nervously said, gathering the right words. "Black and I are back together again." She finally spit it out, much to the shock of Leomon.

 

"You're back together?" He said oddly, trying to make sense of what she just revealed. "How?" He then demanded in his gruff voice.

 

"Last night, Black confessed to me that he still loves me and wants us to return to what were in the past. And then… we spent the night together… and that's when I discovered that I still have strong feelings for him and that the passion between never died like we both believed." Angewomon continued, stunning Leomon more than before. He couldn't believe that Angewomon; the female he believed to be the one he loved could've done a thing like that. He thought that she just betrayed him.  And then there's BlackWarGreymon. Every time Leomon begins to accept him as a friend, he goes off and commits a foul mistake, thus resulting him to dislike him more instead. First he treated his partner Chris like a slave for fun, then stole Angewomon back even though she was still with Leomon at the time and now he realized that BlackWarGreymon carelessly made love to Angewomon behind Renamon's back, like he didn't even care that she was still fond of him or not. That's something Leomon won't take lightly and won't forgive BlackWarGreymon for it. Leomon just kept quiet and didn't say anything to Angewomon regarding the matter, yet it was apparent that he was extremely angry and that worried her. He then got up on his feet and began to walk away like nothing happened.

 

"Leo-Leomon! Wait!" Angewomon rushed after him and held his arm to stop him. "What are you going to do?!"

 

Leomon stared back at her with cold eyes. "Why would you want to know? Isn't it enough that you've used me?" he harshly said.

 

"Leomon, no, that's not how it is… I didn't mean to manipulate you! I was just… confused. Please, believe me!" Angewomon desperately pled to him. Leomon just continued to stare at her for a few moments before he pulled his arm from her grasp and carried on his way, leaving Angewomon behind. He was so mad at her, yet he didn't want to treat her so badly because he considered her a victim as well.  The only one he had a grudge on the most was none other than BlackWarGreymon.

"Oh, Leomon… Why? Why did it have to come to this?" Angewomon sadly said as she watched him walk away.

That depressing night went by faster than expected, as the next morning arrived and the party decided to have a swim at the nearby lake for a quick clean up. The females found a private part of the lake where they can have their break away from the males. It was some meters far and was surrounded by vines and bushes. The other males at the other hand were already having fun.

 

"WooooHoooo!"  Hasan and Gomamon hollered and jumped into the lake with a big water splash that hit Terriermon.

 

"Hey! You're getting me all wet!" Terriermon griped, shaking the water off himself.

 

"Well Duh! What did you expect? We're taking a swim here." Hasan replied.

 

"What's the matter, Terriermon? Still don't like to have a bath?" Gomamon smirked and was splashing some water at him.

 

"And what's wrong with that? I'm not diving in that cold water! Not even in a million years!" Terriermon frowned. He always hated getting himself all wet, especially in cold water. "Cut it out, Gomamon!!" Terriermon barked, annoyed by Gomamon teasing. He then felt himself being carried by two hands holding him from his waist, which they turned out to be Ben's. "Oh, no! Ben, DON'T!"

 

"Oh, yes. We're all in this together, Terr." Ben chuckled and dived down with him holding Terriermon as his cries of help were gurgled below the water.

 

"Ha, that should cool you down." Soni laughed.

 

"Heh, yeah." Chris followed, getting ready by the edge of the lake. "I wonder where Leomon and Black? Whoa!" He then wondered before being pushed into the lake by someone. Chris came out the surface and gasped for air. "What the…!?" He looked up to see who pushed him and saw BlackWarGreymon with a big smile, holding himself from laughing. "Dammit, Black! You always creep up on me like that!"

 

"What's the harm in a little kidding around?" BlackWarGreymon smirked. He was seemingly in his usual good attitude despite the incident last night. Although he didn't forgot about it, he didn't want to show how depressed he was and just aimed to have fun with them to take his off the matter. "Heads up! Ready or not!" BlackWarGreymon then said and was preparing to jump in.

 

"Holy… run for cover!" Hasan yelled as the all swam away in different ways before the giant black dragonoid mon bombed at them. His large weight made a gigantic wave around the lake and scattered them around it, screaming loudly. The raging water finally settled as BlackWarGreymon was laughing out loud from the clumsy sight of them grasping for dear life.

 

"GODMON! I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DIE!" Terriermon was gasping, catching his lost breath on top of Ben's head.

 

"Oh boy! That was Fun! Do it again Black!" Gomamon cheerfully said.

 

"Shut your gap, Gomamon! He'd do it with no second thoughts!" Soni quickly said.

 

"Errr, Chris?" Ben then called him.

 

"What?"

 

"I don't mean to rant, but I think your partner is feeling a little too comfortable."

 

"Huh? What do you…?" Chris said as Ben pointed to where Leomon was standing. Unlike his human friends; who were wearing spare white shorts Chris kept in handy, and Black; who was also wearing his black trunks, Leomon was wearing absolutely nothing. He was ready to join them completely nude, which was something very natural to him. "Oh… that's… nothing. Right?" Chris sweat-dropped.

 

"Uhmm, yeah, I guess. Jump in Leomon, but don't ever come near us from behind!" Hasan said in a mix of sarcasm and uneasiness. Leomon simply shrugged and stepped into the lake. They spent a good while swimming and having a good time. BlackWarGreymon was playfully teasing with Gomamon and Terriermon, drowning them and playing with them. But during his fun, before he could even expect it, Leomon suddenly came from behind him and shoved BlackWarGreymon's head below the surface of the lake. BlackWarGreymon was surprised to say the least, as he didn't know what hit him as Leomon was utterly drowning him. Terriermon and Gomamon were watching in amazement, never imagining Leomon doing a thing like that as he kept drowning BlackWarGreymon.

 

"Hasan! Leomon is trying to suffocate Black!" Gomamon yelled out.

 

"Say what?" They all turned to see and were staggered by the sight. "Heck, what are you doing, Leomon!?" Chris questioned him strangely.

 

"Just fooling around with Black. Don't mind us." Leomon answered with a grin and was still shoving BlackWarGreymon under water in a purposely friendly way. 

 

"Oh, pretty nice. Have fun then! Hey, let's see who can swim faster to the other side!" Ben then said to them excitedly.

 

"You're on!" They agreed and swam away from the two big males. When they were far enough, Leomon finally let go of BlackWarGreymon as he came out from the water hastily, breathing heavily for air. BlackWarGreymon was a horrible diver, so forcing him to dive in like that while he wasn't doing very good really ticked him off.

 

"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?" BlackWarGreymon snarled with a murderous look in his eyes.

 

Leomon chuckled, "Come now, Black, you don't want them to hear you, do you? But frankly, you really looked funny." BlackWarGreymon was furious even more by that remark. He really didn't like to be joked at, so obviously he was totally mad, especially that Leomon was the one mocking him.

 

"Funny?! I'll show you what'll really make you cry from laughing!" BlackWarGreymon crossly said and pulled Leomon from his necklace, ready to deliver a strong punch to his face.

 

"So, you're gonna act this brute with our friends swimming near? I bet Chris would be really disappointed to see his wanna-be partner fighting his true and real favorite partner. Don't you agree?" Leomon said with a toothy grin.  BlackWarGreymon froze in his place, his fist shaking in mid-air.

 

"DAMMIT!" BlackWarGreymon cursed and struck his fist on the water. Leomon pushed BlackWarGreymon's hand that was clutching on his necklace and continued to exchange death glares.

 

"That's better. You do have some intellect left after all." Leomon remarked.

 

"What's your problem!? You're really beginning to piss me off!"

 

"Ah, so you didn't get the message yet, eh?"

 

"If it's about the urge to beat the crap outta you, then yeah, I'm getting it alright!"

 

"Heh, you have no idea how I'd love to do the same to you. But I won't waste my time trying to convince you. I'll just let you in on one thing and I'll only say it once, so you better listen well." Leomon then told him with a serious stare. "Just watch your back, because I'm in to you."

 

BlackWarGreymon smiled in confidence, "Oh, is that so? Thanks for the tip, kitty. But I won't need to. You don't want to mess with me." He threatened back. They kept silence after that tense moment, as Leomon slowly moved past him.

 

"We'll see." Leomon softly said and swam away. BlackWarGreymon was very raged to say the least. He never met someone as daring as Leomon who actually stood up to him. But in spite of all, he admired that and really wanted to see what Leomon has in store for him.

At the female section of this natural swimming pool, the girls were enjoying having a nice swim, except for Renamon, who was just sitting under a tree to relax.

 

"Come on, Renamon! Why don't you join us?" Lillymon said, inviting her to dive in.

 

"No thanks, I'm not in the mood." Renamon answered, brushing the fur on her chest with her paw.

 

"Aww, why not? It's fun! You'll like it very much." Lillymon insisted.

 

"Thank you Lillymon, but I don't feel like it right now. Don't bother about me and enjoy."

 

"Ohhh, I see now. You don't want to get your furry figure all wet and reveal all your features in front of the guys, riiiiiight?" Lillymon then devilishly stated, making Renamon blush brightly.

 

"N-No! It's not that!" Renamon protest, even though Lillymon nailed it.

 

"Yeah, sure. I got you. It'd be really embarrassing, especially with your honey Leomon around!" Lillymon giggled. Renamon was stunned as to how did Lillymon find out about it and she was quite troubled that Angewomon was around to hear that. Angewomon was washing her long blond hair as Lillymon was talking, but acted as if she didn't hear anything. "Don't be so surprised. I saw how you two were so intimate with each other. You're really lucky! I wish if I were in your place! Tell me, how's his kisses? I bet he's really good, considering how you melt between his arms!"

 

"Lillymon! Gracious, Please!" Renamon shyly covered her blushing face with her paws.

 

"Whoops! I got carried away, huh? Pardon me, but I love to talk about this lovey dovey stuff!" Lillymon chirped. "I'll shut up now. I'm finished here anyway. Catch you two later!" She then informed them and got out the lake to dry, leaving Renamon and Angewomon alone shortly. Both of them were feeling quite uncomfortable being together at the same place. Angewomon continued to wash herself while Renamon was just sitting there doing nothing unordinary.  Renamon then stood up and thought that she'd better leave as well as she couldn't stand the odd air around her.

 

"Wait." Angewomon then called out to her. Renamon quickly stopped and turned to her. Angewomon got out from the water and stood before her. "I want to have a word with you." Angewomon then asked of Renamon, who was somewhat puzzled.

 

"I don't think there's anything for us to talk about." Renamon answered and was about to take her leave.

 

"That's not what I think. We both have to settle this matter, soon."

 

"Wh-What matter…?"

 

"I'm sure you know. Leomon and Black."

 

Renamon didn't expect her to bring up this issue this fast. The idea of her discussing about her emotional problems with Angewomon didn't appeal to her. How could she if she considered her the main source of all that? "There's nothing to talk about. Now, if you'll excuse me…" Renamon tried to avoid the confrontation but Angewomon didn't let her go this easily.

 

"What's the matter, Renamon? Why are you still running away? What are you sacred of?" Angewomon questioned her directly, hitting her in the right nerve.

 

"I'm not running away and there's nothing to be scared of." Renamon retorted sternly.

 

"Then why are you avoiding me? You know that we have to do this sooner or later."

 

Renamon then began to think that Angewomon's right. She had to let out what she's feeling about what happened, and who's better than the girl she considers her rival. "Fine then, I'm convinced." Renamon replied and give Angewomon her attention.

 

"I knew you would. Could you just give me a minute to dress?" Angewomon requested as she was still completely nude.

 

"Sure." Renamon nodded with a little smile, giving her the chance to dry and fix herself up. About a minute later, Angewomon was all ready and invited Renamon to sit down with her on a tree log. "Well then, how should we start this?" Angewomon began.

 

"Don't look at me. You're the one who brought this up." Renamon shrugged.

 

Angewomon giggled slightly, "Oh, I did, didn't I? Ahem, oh-kay… Hmmm, you know, I have no idea either." She then laughed a bit. Angewomon's change of attitude was confusing Renamon. She was acting quite different than a while ago. "Okay, let's get serious now. We both fell in love with the same two males who we previously had an affair with. Isn't that correct?" Angewomon said as Renamon nodded back. "So we basically sunk ourselves in a swirling mess. But let's not kid ourselves here, all four of us completely screwed things up. We simply cheated on one another, even if we didn't see it coming."

 

"I still don't know what you are getting at."

 

"What I'm trying to say is, what are we gaining from all of this? We're all upset from each other for similar reasons, but when I think about it, it's doesn't make any sense as for why we're acting like this. What do you think?" Angewomon then asked.

 

"M-Me?"

 

"Yes."

 

"Oh… Well, I really don't know."

 

"I figured so. You're just confused, right?"

 

"… yes."

 

"Alright, let's try it in another way. Let's talk about them."

 

"About who?"

 

"Who else beside those two? You've known Leomon longer than me, so tell me about him."

 

"Leomon? Uhmm, actually, I haven't known him for that long. Maybe just for a few weeks ago."

 

"That's long enough. How did you two met?"

 

Renamon paused for bit. She wasn't sure why Angewomon like would to know about all of that. But there's something about Angewomon that made Renamon trust her somehow and there's a part of her that truly wanted to tell her about her inner feelings.

 

"You don't have to talk if you don't want to." Angewomon stated when she noticed her lost in thoughts.

 

"Huh? Oh, no. I don't mind."

 

"Really? Good then. So…"

 

"Well, to tell you the truth, we weren't this close when we first met. He was treating me so harsh and was so cold with me. He always made feel so weak. I hated him, to put it simple." Renamon expressed, remembering those past moments.

 

"You hated him?" Angewomon blinked in wonder.

 

"Yes." Renamon chuckled as she said that. "I really despised him. I couldn't stand his attitude. I think he felt the same way about me, but I can't deny I was annoyingly stubborn with him, so I can't blame him. Yet, despite all that, there was something about Leomon, something I couldn't realize before. I was actually falling for him, but… I don't know why, but I didn't want to accept it. Maybe I was in self-denial, or maybe because of…"

 

"Of Black." Angewomon added as Renamon trailed off.

 

"Right. Black was the one I thought I loved. The night we first arrived at the Digimon Town, he told me how he cared about me and then invited me to… spend the night at his room." Renamon muttered slightly, ashamed. "But during the time I was stranded with Leomon in the past few days, I found out how much he is so… great. I can't find the right words to describe him, but the only thing I'm sure about is that I love him, truly love him. What I felt towards Black was nothing like how I'm feeling now. It made me realize that Black was just… using me, and I won't ever forgive him for that." Renamon finished, not believing she actually said those things to Angewomon.

"Sorry if talked too much. I don't know why I'm telling this anyway."

 

"It's all right, I'm glad you did. But let me clear something to you. I know how you feel about Black, but you're actually wrong about him. He's not the type who takes advantage of others. Believe me, I know. He was just, like us, confused. I've known Black for a long time and I can assure you that he's couldn't do such a thing." Angewomon explained.

 

"Then why did you break up? If you two still love each other, then why?" Renamon then promptly asked.

 

"Because… maybe we weren't sure about the feelings we were sharing. You might find it hard to believe, but meeting you and Leomon showed us the truth. I'm sure that Black really was fond of you and thought that you might be the one. Maybe he saw what Leomon's seeing in you that night." Angewomon told her as Renamon was stunned by what she said. She hated to admit it, but what Angewomon said made sense to some extent. "So please, don't judge him so harshly. I know it'll be hard for you like it is with me, but let's give it a chance." Angewomon then asked of her and held her paws with her hands gently. 

 

"I…" Renamon coyly uttered. She's beginning to see why BlackWarGreymon loved Angewomon, and also why Leomon liked to be with her before. Angewomon had a kind, gentle soul that could capture any being's heart, Renamon's included. Renamon regretted how she thought badly of her, but that maybe because she was jealous of her. But now Renamon had a change of heart towards Angewomon after she knew her better. ""I'm not sure it'll be this simple… but I'll try."  Renamon said to her with a smile.

 

"I know, it won't be easy and it'll take time. But I'm sure it'll work out fine if we put our hearts into it. It'll be for best, right?" Angewomon smiled back.

 

"Of course. Angewomon… Thank you." Renamon then thanked her and stretched her right paw to her. Angewomon was thrilled. Deep inside of her, she always wanted to befriend Renamon and now it seemed to be happening. She reached out to her and returned the shake.

 

"I'm glad you understood." Angewomon stated as she shook her paw.

 

Renamon nodded back, "Thanks to you. Anyway, we should be going back to them now." She suggested as Angewomon agreed and they returned together as new good friends.

During that, the guys were finishing up drying and dressing themselves after having their hot spring break. Leomon, with his bushy mane, was having a bothersome time straightening it when it was all wet. Chris noticed him and gave him a comb from his bag to brush his ruffled mane more easily. "Thanks." "Come on Lillymon, we have to get you away from here before you get seizures." Soni jokingly said and escorted his totally blushed partner away from the scene.

During that time, Renamon and Angewomon were heading back to where their other friends were supposed to be resting. They were having a small chat along the way, talking more about Leomon and BlackWarGreymon.

 

"Hey, you still haven't told me how you get to meet Leomon." Angewomon told Renamon.

 

"Oh, let me remember... ah yes, it went like this; me and my partner we're just wandering aimlessly and then stumbled upon a hut. Then all of the sudden an angry beast came and attacked us for no reason!" Renamon was telling her promptly.

 

"Then Leomon appeared and rescued you, right?"

 

"Not even close. You see, that beast WAS Leomon. Turned out that hut was his home and he thought we were trespassing. He hurt Hasan a bit and attacked me. If it weren't for Chris, I don't know what could've happened."

 

"My, talk about a bad first impression." Angewomon remarked jokingly.

 

"I know; that's one of the reasons why I disliked him. He's sometimes so judgmental!" Renamon stated irritably.

 

Angewomon laughed, "Kinda like you."

 

"What? Oh... Well, yeah... maybe you're right." Renamon replied rather shyly and then couldn't help but giggle, knowing more how she and Leomon do have lots of things in common.

 

"Here what I don't like about Black; he's so... how do I put it... unserious. Like the opposite of Leomon, he doesn't take most things seriously." Angewomon was addressing before she saw that Renamon's face turned pale.

 

"I know what you mean..." Renamon uttered sadly.

 

"Oh no," Angewomon quickly retorted. "You got me wrong! I didn't mean it in that sense."

 

Renamon smiled, "It's alright. We don't have to mention that again."

 

Angewomon sighed in relief. "Indeed. We both know how great they both are."

 

"Yes! You're absolutely...!"  Renamon stopped at the tip of her tongue just when the two of them arrived and saw the implausible panorama. They were simply dumbfounded, seeing the two males they're just admiring a moment ago irrationally arguing dead naked with the others looking very annoyed, growing tired of this stupid ordeal.

 

"Oh, welcome back! Good timing! You haven't missed the show!" Gomamon cheerfully greeted the two females.

 

"Wh-what's going on here?" Angewomon wondered in astonish.

 

"Errr, as you can see... Ah, never mind, you wouldn't want to know." Ben replied.

 

"Dear God, what are you two doing!?" Renamon strictly scolded them and accomplished in making them stop. The two big males panicked when they saw Renamon and Angewomon staring at them with an odd look.

 

"Uhhh, we're having... you see?" BlackWarGreymon murmured, not having any idea of how to explain.

 

"No, I don't see. Why are you both still standing here completely naked?" Angewomon demanded.

 

"Oh... We were just... deciding who's 'bigger'." Leomon openly answered as the two girls blinked in disbelief. The two brute guys apprehended that they went a bit too far and finally decided to end this matter, stubbornly saying that it was nothing but a tie. The rest of the group just shook their head from the idiocy of it.

 

"Are these the guys we were discussing about earlier?" Angewomon then whispered to Renamon.

 

"I'm beginning to doubt it myself." Renamon replied as Angewomon giggled.

The party continued their journey towards the mountain, getting very close to reaching it. "Just a few more minutes and we'll be there." Hasan said. "Wonder what awaits us." He then added

 

"Probably Reapermon." Soni answered him. "One thing for sure, he'll be quite surprised to see us all still intact."

 

"That's not what I think. I wouldn't be stunned if he wasn't. That Digimon is one creepy dude, we don't know what other tricks he has up in his sleeves." Chris exclaimed, the idea shivering some of them.

 

"Bah! He's nothing more than a wimpy pushover. I assure you, the next time I see him will be his last." BlackWarGreymon said in confidence.

 

"That's right! We're much stronger than the first time we met him, so this time he'll feel many butt kicking up his ass!" Terriermon said in enthusiasm, punching the air and accidentally gave a strong poke to the back of Ben's head.

 

"Ow! Hey, Watch it!" Ben griped.

 

"Oops! Sorry!" 

 

"Heh. Oh, yeah! That reminds me! Hey, Leomon… we still have a little issue that needs to be cleared." Chris suddenly remembered and whispered to his partner as they were walking.

 

"What issue?" Leomon cocked his head and wondered. Chris grinned and pointed with his thumb at Renamon without alerting the others about it. Leomon immediately got his meaning and frowned.

 

"Damn…" Leomon cursed under his breath. "Can't we delay this till later?" Leomon then whispered back.

 

"Not this time, pal. You got survived last time and I won't let you go now." Chris strictly told him as Leomon shook his head in distress.

 

"I'm hungry, Hasan. Let's make lunch stop!" Gomamon then whined.

 

"Aw, Gomamon, if we keep having breaks like this we won't be able to reach the mountain ever." Hasan scolded him.

 

"I know, but…" Gomamon complained again.

 

"Hey, that's not a bad idea. Let's have our last lunch break now. We almost made it anyway." Chris told them, finding this the best chance to interrogate poor Leomon.

 

"Fair enough." Soni said as the others agreed. They stopped to have a quick meal and scattered around to look for firewood and other edible stuff. Hasan went with his two Digimon to look for water, but then Renamon stopped all of a sudden.

 

"Can you excuse me for a few minutes?" Renamon asked.

 

"Huh? Why?" Hasan questioned her.

 

"Uhm, I can't explain right now."

 

"Ah, still keeping secrets?"

 

"I'm very sorry, it won't be for long. You'll know everything soon, I promise."

 

"Okay…" Hasan sighed. "We'll meet you up with the others then."

 

"Thank you! I promise; you'll find it much to your liking." Renamon gave him a nice hug before taking her leave.

 

"What's up with her?" Gomamon asked.

 

"Beats me, but it looks serious." Hasan shrugged. "Hmm, something that I'll like…what did she mean by that?"

 

"Ahhh, she must've meant Leomon!" Gomamon then chirped.

 

"Wait a sec; what does Leomon have to do with all of this?" Hasan said with a questioned look.

 

"They're lovers now. I saw them kiss once!" Gomamon answered with a wide beam.

 

"Come again!?"

Meanwhile, Renamon was actually looking for BlackWarGreymon, so she could talk to him and maybe clear that matter between them. She wandered around for a while and quickly found him, standing in front of a tree in an attempt to cut it down and use it as firewood.

 

"Darn, why should I do all the lame hard work? Who do they think I am, a lumberjack?" BlackWarGreymon grumbled and was about to bring down the tree with a single strike of his Dramon buster, before he heard Renamon's soft voice calling him from behind.

 

"Black?" He stopped on his track and turned around slowly; a bit surprised to see her alone there, but he hid his expression and acted natural. He switched back to the tree in front of him and struck it with his claw, cutting it down in an instant. He then returned to face her after finishing his job, a serious look on his face. Renamon could feel that he wasn't very pleased to see her after what happened last night, but she was determined to finish this now and approached him. "Hello." She simply greeted him.

 

BlackWarGreymon strapped back his metallic claw. "What is it?" He coldly addressed her. He was obviously still upset with the whole deal of her forsaking him for Leomon. Renamon was hurt herself, but she didn't want to banish BlackWarGreymon out of her life. "Well?"

 

"It's… It's about last night. I was giving it some thoughts and then came to understand what you tried to explain to me... about you and Angewomon." Renamon said, as BlackWarGreymon didn't see that coming.

 

"What!?"

 

"I was over shocked at the time and acted so irrationally. I didn't give you a fair chance. I want to tell you that I'm… sorry." Renamon expressed, staring at his widened eyes. BlackWarGreymon couldn't bear being angry with her anymore after just taking one glance at her pretty eyes. He pulled her closer to him and embraced her.

 

"No, no, you don't have to be sorry for anything. I'm the one who should be asking for forgiveness, not you. I'm so sorry Renamon, for everything." BlackWarGreymon softly uttered, gently squeezing a stunned Renamon. She could feel that he was really meaning it and that pleased her.

 

"It's alright, everything is fine now. We still can be good friends, right?" Renamon pulled herself from him a bit and asked.

 

"More than that; we're soul mates. I'm sure, if we met in different circumstances, we'd make a great couple. That Leomon is one lucky bastard." BlackWarGreymon said with a smirk.

 

"Oh, Black!" Renamon giggled and went back to hug him nicely as BlackWarGreymon hugged her back.

 

At that exact time, and just as luck would have it, Leomon was passing nearby with Chris, the later still insisting on him to tell him everything he's hiding. "Please Chris, not now." Leomon told him desperately.

 

"Come on Leomon! I just have to know! What is it that you're tying to hide?" Chris demanded.

 

"I told you, I'm not hiding anything."

 

"You're bad liar. If that so, then what was that silly thing you pulled back there with Black?" Chris then glared at him with one eye blinked.

 

"Errr, that?" Leomon murmured.

 

"Yes, 'errr that'. What the heck was that all about? Some sortta 'Who got the Biggest Dick' contest?" Chris remarked, causing Leomon to slap his face to hide his embarrassment.

 

"Well, I was just trying to humiliate him." Leomon then directly confessed.

 

"Who, Black? Why?!" Chris asked, surprised.

 

"Because I simply don't like him. I kept this from you because I know how you do and didn't want to upset you."

 

"But why? I thought you were over that matter with Black. Why are still disliking him?"

 

"It's about something else…"

 

"Something else?"

 

"Alright, I'll tell you. The reason why I…" Just as Leomon was explaining to his partner, they ran into Renamon and BlackWarGreymon and saw them in that intimate embrace. Needless to say, Leomon was extremely staggered, with his eyes almost bugged out from the sight of his love between BlackWarGreymon's arms. He immediately assumed that BlackWarGreymon was trying to fool her into loving him again and repeats the same mistake, and that utterly enraged him beyond comprehension. Chris was somewhat confused of what's happening, but one look at those two hugging and then another at Leomon's furious mug gave him a quick clear idea.

 

"Uhhh, Leomon?" Chris nervously called him but didn't get his attention as his eyes were still focused at them. Leomon, with no further delays, then marched toward with steady steps, already figuring out what he had to do. "Oh God, No! Leomon, Wait!" Chris yelled out and startled BlackWarGreymon and Renamon. Leomon didn't stop to greet and delivered one strong punch right to BlackWarGreymon's face, bringing him down to the ground.

 

"Leomon! No, Don't!" Renamon quickly cried and tried to hold off Leomon.

 

"DON'T EVEN DARE TOUCH ONE FUR OF HER BODY EVER AGAIN!!" growled Leomon madly. He lost all his temper and the only thing he wanted was to beat BlackWarGreymon up for all his worth. "YOU KEEP YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF HER OR ELSE I'LL RIP'EM OFF!!"

 

"Please, Leomon! Stop! It's not what you think!" Renamon tried her best to explain but she wasn't getting into him as he was too blinded by anger. BlackWarGreymon on the other hand got on his feet with a slight laughter, wiping away the blood from his chin.

 

"Oh, I've been waiting for you to make a foolish mistake like this."  BlackWarGreymon chuckled. He then threw a swift fist, striking the lionman on his muzzle as he was knocked flat on his back.

 

"Leomon!" Renamon gasped and kneeled to her dearest. "Are you okay?" She asked him in concern and tried to help him sit up.

 

"Step aside." Leomon told her as he got up and rubbed his muzzle.

 

"Hope I didn't break it." BlackWarGreymon said in sarcasm, mocking Leomon.

 

"It'll take much more than that." Leomon retorted and marched forward to fight him but Renamon stood in his way.

 

"Stop it! You don't have to fight him, Leomon! You got it all wrong!" Renamon cried.

 

"The only thing I got wrong was accepting him as a friend. Now stay back before you get yourself hurt."

 

"No, I won't!" Renamon boldly replied. "I won't let you do this! I don't want to see the both of you fight each other! Please Leomon, calm down and be reasonable…" She moved closer to him and grabbed his arms tenderly, looking at him with pleading eyes.

 

"Sorry, but I can't." Leomon turned her down and placed his hands on her shoulders, gently pushing her to the side. He walked passed her and continued to step towards BlackWarGreymon.

 

"You finally got the guts to do this, eh? Come on, let's see if you're could hold a candle against me." BlackWarGreymon challenged him. Leomon replied by raising his fists and taking a battle position. "Excellent, just what I expected." BlackWarGreymon exclaimed and did the same.

 

"Wait a Damn Minute!" Chris shouted and made them both turn to him. "What is wrong with you?! I'm not sure about what really happened, but I'm certain it's just one big misunderstanding. So why you are still want to fight?! The last thing I want is to see you two battling!" Chris sternly said, disappointed to see his two Digimon partners acting this brutally against one another.

 

"It might seem illogical, but it has to be done. It's inevitable." BlackWarGreymon said.

 

"I agree. It's not just because of you or her anymore, it's much more than that now." Leomon said to Chris.

 

"Wha-What the hell are you talking about!? C'mon, that's Enough! It's not funny! Nothing good will come of it!" Chris yelled.

 

"Chris is right! Please, stop this foolishness!" Renamon pled desperately. But all those pleas were for nothing, as the two warriors were determined to fight and there's nothing anyone could do to prevent that.

 

And the battle started, as Leomon dashed at BlackWarGreymon with a charged left punch. BlackWarGreymon didn't move from his place and waited for Leomon to strike. BlackWarGreymon raised his wrist just as Leomon threw his fist and blocked it, pushing Leomon backward afterward. That left Leomon wide opened for a counter attack as BlackWarGreymon took full advantage of it and swooped in for the kill. BlackWarGreymon swiftly landed a powerful knuckle deeply at Leomon's stomach, causing him to grunt loudly.

 

"Leomon!!" Chris and Renamon both gasped, seeing Leomon dropping on his knees from the pain, coughing out some blood. BlackWarGreymon pulled his fist away and stood before the crouching Leomon, chuckling a bit.

 

"Heh, didn't expect you to go down this easily." BlackWarGreymon remarked, but he didn't realize the mistake he'd made as Leomon surprised him with an upraised uppercut, hitting BlackWarGreymon on his jaw and lifting him upward, landing on his back a few feet away.

 

"I didn't expect you to be this stupid, lowering your guard like that." Leomon talked back, rising on his feet again. Leomon then jumped at BlackWarGreymon and dived down at him with a knee drop, but BlackWarGreymon rolled out of the attack range as Leomon crashed on the empty ground. Before Leomon could even recover, BlackWarGreymon tackled him and wrestled him to the ground, grabbing Leomon from his throat and slamming his head hard at the ground. Leomon didn't let him do much more than this as he clutched BlackWarGreymon's arms and back flipped him, shoving BlackWarGreymon away from him. The black dragon crashed into a big tree with a painful groan, slowly sliding and dropping on his face.

 

Chris couldn't take much more of this and rushed to Leomon side, attempting to make him stop. "Stop it, Leomon! That's enough!" Chris yelled but Leomon didn't listen and stood up to continue. "I said Stop!"

 

"STAY BACK CHRIS AND DON'T INTERFERE!" Leomon growled back at him with raged eyes. Chris was speechless. He didn't see Leomon this mad ever before and it seemed that they were ready to fight to the death, and that scared him very much.

 

"Please, you have to end this! You don't have to fight him Black!" Renamon was trying her luck with BlackWarGreymon, but he too wasn't listening to reason.

 

"This is between me and him! So don't try to stop us! I won't be satisfied until I teach him a lesson he won't soon forget!" BlackWarGreymon sharply retorted. "Now stay back, I don't want you to get hurt." He then pushed her out of his way and prepared for another round of beating up.

 

"But why…?" Renamon uttered in sorrow.

 

"L-Leomon… Come back! Don't do it!" Chris kept on trying to stop this meaningless fight only to fail miserably again and again. BlackWarGreymon attacked with a strong punch as Leomon countered with a similar offense. Their fists hit and they got locked in a struggle of strength, each one using his outmost force to blow away the other. That struggle didn't last long, ending with the both of them pushing each other to the opposite side. But that didn't stop them from repeating it, this time with more charged up force.

 

"What're they doing?! They're going to kill each other!!" Chris said in desperation. Leomon and BlackWarGreymon finished charging up their fists and charged at each other to attack. "DAMMIT! STOOOP!!!" Chris screamed from the top of his lung and ran to their direction to interrupt them. The two fighters finally collided, their fists full of energy clashing together as they punched each other. The immense force the impact of their attacks released hit Chris as he tried to stop them and blew him away. 

 

"CHRIIIS!!" Renamon shrieked in horror when she saw Chris hitting the ground with loud thud, his glasses flying in the air. The two fighters noticed the tragic incident, as BlackWarGreymon punched Leomon to the ground eventually. BlackWarGreymon saw Chris lying on his back with a shocked Renamon standing nearby. He realized what happened and all his rage and anger were replaced with worry and concern. He rushed to where Chris was lying, kneeling down to him to check if he's hurt.

 

"My god, what have I…!" BlackWarGreymon said in grief, praying for his safety. He noticed that Chris wasn't badly injured, just bumped and bit dazed from the shock. BlackWarGreymon sighed in comfort, happy that it wasn't as serious as he feared. "Hey, you're okay?" BlackWarGreymon gently said to the dozy Chris and tried to make him react.

 

Leomon finally stood up and noticed what just occurred to his partner, not believing what he's witnessing. The sight of his dear partner apparently unconsciously lying next to the one he hated most stunned him greatly, but only for mere seconds as his previous anger turned up a notch, going beyond savage. He immediately neared them, grabbed BlackWarGreymon by the shoulder and tugged him, punching him and sending flying into a tree, hitting it hard. "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HIM!!" Leomon snarled, before crouching down to Chris and checked on him himself. He was relieved to see that he's fine, but not for long as BlackWarGreymon surprised him from behind and kicked away.

 

"DON'T YOU TELL ME NOT TO TOUCH HIM! I HAVE AS MUCH RIGHT TO WORRY ABOUT HIM!" BlackWarGreymon yelled back at him afterward.  They both then resumed fighting, trading one blow after another while yelling at each other heatedly.

 

"NO, YOU GOT NO RIGHT! I DON'T WANT YOU TO GET ENAR HIM AGAIN!" Leomon shouted.

 

"I'M HIS FRIEND TOO! I'M HIS PARTNER TOO!" BlackWarGreymon also yelled.

 

"YOU'RE NOT HIS REAL PARTNER! YOU'RE JUST A WANNABE!" Yelled Leomon again. And so on and so forth, they kept on as Chris was lying there, still not fully awake and oblivious of what happening around him. Renamon was watching all this time, helplessly. She walked over to Chris' side and kneeled down next to him, cradling in her soft arms and holding him in an upright position. She held him snugly, almost crying in sadness, having to endure watching those two Digimon that she cared for treating each other this monstrously. She finally had her fill of this utter nonsense, deciding on doing something that'd end this meaningless anarchy. She rested Chris back down gently and slowly approached them as they were still beating one another up, bled and bruised badly.

 

"ENOUGH!!!" Renamon cried and got between them, pushing them apart and following with two quick punches of her to wake them up from their berserk state.

"I can't believe you two! How could you be this insensitive and uncaring!? Look at what your dumb act had done! You're killing each other and almost killed the person who cared for you both the most!" Renamon sharply angered at them both, bringing them back to reality, as they lowered their heads in shame.

 

"What the…? What happened here?!" Hasan exclaimed in astonishment. He suddenly arrived with the rest of the party into the scene, all of them shocked from what they saw.

 

"Ha-Hasan…?!" Renamon gasped.

 

"Oh my God! Chris!" Ben rushed to his friend after he saw them lying there. "What happened to you!? Wake up man!" Ben tried to shake him up as Chris began to come to at last. He sat up and took a look around his surroundings, seeing all his friends around him. He then grabbed his head, shaking it a bit before suddenly hit the ground with his fist.

 

"I can't take this anymore! Why the hell am I the only unlucky guy around here?! Ever since I arrived at this world, it's all just bad stuff happening to me! First my partner is colder than the North Pole! Then I fall off a bridge! Later, some huge gorilla with a gun for hand shoots me and almost kills me! Then I'm taken thousands of feet in the sky and threatened to be dropped! Then I gotta serve as a slave, which days later end up getting me sick with a bad fever! Then some psycho appears and blows me away along with others in a tornado! Then another psycho appears and his head chases me around trying to eat me! Now this?" from out of the blue, Chris started jabber like he was in some sort of a tantrum, venting off all his inner anger and stunning all those around him. "I don't wanna come back here ever again!!!!!!!!!!!" Chris then finished with a loud yell.

 

Just in the middle of all that mass chaos, drop of water landed on Terriermon's nose. "Huh? Rain?" He exclaimed in wonder as more raindrops began to pour down at them.
