I won’t trouble myself and warn you not read on if you’re under 18 just because this is a lemon that contains adult situations.

What Digimon Want

Chapter 1: Awakening

By: Hazan_Z

Graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!! Gomamon growled all of the sudden and gnawed on his partner’s right leg, as Joe screamed his heart out from the fright, jumping up from the bed startlingly. Joe was watching a horror movie he’d rented for that night, and he was totally into the scene where the killer was about to kill one of the victims that he didn’t notice Gomamon sneaking up on him from behind.

“JESUS! Goddammit, Gomamon! You scared the crap out of me!” Joe crossly snapped at his partner, who was lying on his back and laughing hard, when he realized it was none other than his mischievous Digimon.

“Hah! You should’ve seen yourself! You screamed like a giddy girl!” crackled the seal Digimon.

Hee hee, very funny. Now cut it out, will you? I’m trying to enjoy the movie.”

Aww, aw-right,” Gomamon whined and lied on his stomach on top Joe’s bed. The Digidestined of Reliability sat down next to his Digimon partner as they continued the flick while having some snacks together.

A few minutes later, the phone rang across the hall outside Joe’s bedroom.

“I’ll get it!” Gomamon jumped down the bed and rushed out of the room with his small flippers. He reached the telephone and with a high hop, picked the wireless phone and then answered cheerily.

“Hello! Kido’s residence! Gomamon speaking…. Uh-huh… yeah, he’s here. Oh, Joey! Telephone!” Gomamon called out to his partner, an apparent smirk on his face.

“Who is it? Tell ‘em I’m busy,” Joe replied from inside his room, occupied by the movie.

“It’s Mimi,” Gomamon covered the phone with one flipper and answered. A sudden loud racket then occurred inside Joe’s room just after Gomamon said that, ending with an “Ow!”. He then saw Joe frantically coming out from his room, rubbing his forehead, as he seemed to have bumped into something on his way.

“M-Mimi?! Why would she call me this late in the night?” Joe asked his Digimon surprisingly.

“Why don’t you find out?” Gomamon said and handed him the phone. Joe coughed out lightly to clear his throat before lifting the phone to his ear.

“Hi, Mimi! How are you doing?” Joe spoke in an upbeat tone.

“Mimi? Wrong person, Joe,” Izzy’s voice replied from the speaker.

Wha-? Oh! Err, pardon me, Izzy. I’ve mistaken you for someone else, thanks to somebody I know,” Joe quickly murmured and then glared sharply at Gomamon, who was already flipping on his back from laughing his ass out.

“Oh-kay, whatever. Anyway, I just called to ask if you’d be free tomorrow morning.”

“Tomorrow? I guess so, but why?”

“We’ll be going to the beach for some fun. It’s summer after all.”

“Ah, sounds good to me. But who are ‘we’?”

“The old gang. You know, me, you, Tai, Matt, Sora and of course, Mimi.”

“Mimi?! When did she arrive from the US?”

“Just this afternoon, she’ll be spending the summer vacation here. She called Sora and came up with the beach idea and told me to spread the news.”

“Oh, I see…what about the other guys?”

“Them? They already have plans of their own. So, what do you say? Are you in?”

“Huh? Oh, yeah, sure, I’m in. But tell me first, are we taking our Digimon?”

“Naturally. Can’t do anything without ‘em these days.”

Heh, true.”

“Alright then, I believe Matt’s dad will be taking us with his minivan. We’ll pick you up around in the morning. That’s okay with you, right?”

“Perfectly okay. See you all in the morning then. Thanks Izzy and goodnight to you,” Joe said goodbye and hanged up the phone, noticing his little buddy standing right next to his feet and was filled with intrigue.

“What was that all about, huh?” Gomamon curiously asked.

“Oh, just me going with my friends to the beach tomorrow,” Joe answered casually.

“For real!? Oh yeah! I love the beach! You’ll surely take me with you, right?” Gomamon excitedly exclaimed.

“After those lame pranks you pulled on me tonight, I don’t think that’s gonna happen, my little friend,” Joe replied strictly.

Awww, C’mon! I was just kidding around! I know that you had a little crush on Mimi, so I… Oops!” Gomamon quickly shut his own mouth up with his paws when he realized that he shouldn’t have said that, but was a bit too late.

“I was about to reconsider taking you with me, but just for that, you can completely forget about it,” Joe sternly said and started to walk back to his room.

“Hey! No! Wait! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it! Please, Joe!” Gomamon went after him and grabbed his foot, clutching on the end of his pants. “Please take me with you to the beach! I promise I’ll stop doing pranks for at least a week! Oh, Puh-leeeease!” Gomamon desperately begged him as Joe was dragging him along the floor with him.

Leggo, Gomamon!” Gomamon was grasping Joe’s outfit so hard; he almost pulled his pants down. “Okay, Okay! You’re going! But this is the last time I want you to bring up Mimi is these kind of issues, got it?”

“Oh, yea! Got it, pal! My muzzle is sealed,” Gomamon chirped in joy and released Joe’s foot, making him trip over to the floor. “Ouch! Sorry ‘bout that. Hehe, that wouldn’t affect your decision, would it? Guess not,” Gomamon nervously chuckled and dashed back to the bedroom to sleep in preparation for the big day tomorrow.

“Oh boy…” Joe sighed stressfully, having a bad feeling about the trip already.

**********************************************

The next morning, Joe was packing up for the trip after they had a quick breakfast and was taking forever, irritating Gomamon to no end.

“Hurry up, Joe! We're going to be late!” Gomamon complained.

Relax, it’s still early, what the rush?” Joe replied as he was still packing, not looking at the impatient Digimon.

Aww, but I want us to be good and ready when the guys come! I just love the sea! Oh, I can't wait!” Gomamon eagerly said. The ring of the phone then interrupted them and Joe went over to it and picked it up.

“Hello? Oh, hi Tai. We’re just waiting for you to… Huh? Oh, is that so? Hmmm… No, I understand. See you then. Goodbye.” Joe finished the call and hanged up, letting out a troubled sigh. That was definitely not a good sign for Gomamon.

“What? What happened? Oh, don’t tell me they canceled the trip!?” Gomamon worriedly inquired.

“Well, no. They’re still going, but not with us,” Joe simply answered.

“What the hell does that mean?! They’re ditching us!?”

“Not exactly. The deal is that Mr. Ishida’s car is in repair; therefore we can’t use it. So Tai is taking his mom’s car.”

“Can Tai drive?” Gomamon blinked.

“That what he said. Anyway, the car is too small to take all of us, especially since they’re taking their Digimon with them. And since my house is the farthest, they had to exclude us from the list.”

“WHAT?!?! No way! That’s just so not fair! How can they do this to us!? Have they no respect? Some friends they are! Darn it! And I was looking forward to this!” Gomamon angrily snarled, pounding the floor with his paw.

“Hey, chill out Gomamon. It’s not like they really wanted this to happen. They had no choice. Beside, who said we’re not going?” Joe smiled.

“Really? Oh, boy! But… how? You don’t have a car, and I bet your parents wouldn’t allow you to take theirs yet,” Gomamon then cocked his head with a puzzled look.

“Simple, we’re taking the bus,” Joe said in confidant and Gomamon’s face fell on the floor.

“Aw, man! Not the bus! I hate buses! They’re crowded and smelly! Why not a cab?” Gomamon suggested.

“Do you have any idea how much it costs for a taxi to take us to the beach? Forget it, we’ll just have to settle with the bus ride,” Joe determinedly said his final word.

“Crap… Fine! But you have to carry me during the whole time we’re in the bus, I don’t want people to keep touching me just because I’m a cute and all,” Gomamon demanded while crossing his flippers.

Heh, alright. Let’s get going then. It’s a long walk to the bus station,” chuckled Joe and finished packing up for the trip.

****************************************

“Sorry Ma’am, please accept my apology. He’s not usually like this. Sorry again,” Joe was getting out of the bus after arriving to the beach, apologizing to a lady with a crying boy sitting next to her, holding his bag in one arm and his Digimon in the other. He quickly stepped down the bus and it drove off, breathing out in relief.

“Whew… What was that for?”  Joe scolded Gomamon.

“Did you see how that brat was pulling my ears?! He almost yankem off my head!” Gomamon protested.

“Well, you didn’t have to snarl at him like that, you were really scary. Anyway, here we are,” Joe replied and then took a deep breath to smell the nice sea breeze. “Ahhh, isn’t it great?”

“Oh, I’m over thrilled…” Gomamon exclaimed in sarcasm.

“Oh, come on, weren’t you the one who was excited about coming here?”

“I was, before that darn bus ride.”

“Hey, cheer up. Look at the blue sea, I bet you can’t wait till you take a deep dive in there,” Joe tempted him, and he was truly right as Gomamon immediately jumped down from Joe’s arm and ran directly to the sea as Joe went after him. “Hey, wait up!”

“Hey Joe! Joe, over here!” Joe then heard someone calling from him from afar and looked around to find out whom. He saw some of his friends sitting near the shore on a rag and were waving to him.

“Hey guys, you already here,” Joe said after he’d joined them.

“An hour ago, actually. Glad you made it, Joe,” Izzy greeted him, who was wearing a yellow shirt and green boxers. Joe was wearing something similar, except it was a white shirt and dark blue boxers. Tentomon was hovering right above his partner’s head, nodding in agreement.

“Yeah, I haven’t seen you since last Christmas, Joe. You’ve gown even taller!” Mimi giggled, sitting under the shade of a big umbrella. She had her hair in its original color and lifted it up in the same fashion as she used to make it when she was a little girl back in her first adventure in the Digital World. She was also in a red bikini and was covering her eyes with black shades.

“Good to see you too, Mimi,” Joe replied with a smile. He then noticed that the rest of the group were missing. “I don’t see the others, where are they?”

“Oh, they’re all scattered around here and there. Look, Sora is playing volleyball with Matt and Tai,” Mimi answered him, pointing with her finger at the volleyball net ahead of them. Sora, who was wearing a blue swimsuit, was teaming up with a black-short-wearing Matt against Tai and Agumon. Joe looked over there just in time when Sora did an impressive spike and smacked the ball right on Agumon’s head.

“Good spike, Sora!” Matt praised her

Woohoo! Thanks, Matt! 12 points for us and a big fat zero to poor Tai,” Sora victoriously chirped, teasing Tai.

“Hey, you’re okay, pal?” Tai checked on his old partner, fallen on his back semi unconscious and with eyes swirling.

Ouhhh… major… pain…” was the only thing the dino Digimon could mutter.

“Yup, he’s fine. Play ball!” The original goggle-head called out. He was wearing nothing but a blue short and his usual blue bandana around his forehead.

“Looks like they’re having fun alright.” chuckled Joe and decided to hang out with Izzy and Mimi.

Meanwhile, Gomamon was jogging towards the sea, as he didn’t want anything else but to enjoy a fine, long swim. But running into Gabumon and the other Digimon delayed that wish.

Hiya, Gomamon, buddy! Long time no see!” Gabumon crossed his way and pulled him into a friendly chokehold.

Gackh! Nice to see you too, but can you lay off!?” Gomamon irritably said as Gabumon unhanded him.

“What’s the matter, Gomamon?” Palmon asked him.

“Yeah, you seem grouchy.” Biyomon agreed.

“Look, I just want to have a swim in the sea, is there something wrong with that?” Gomamon replied with a slight scowl on his face.

Geez, someone really woke up with a thorn on his side,” Gabumon jokingly sneered.

“Aw, bite me!” Gomamon snorted and carried on his way to the sea, ignoring his Digimon friends. They were puzzled by his attitude and wondered why he was this rude. Finally reaching the shore, Gomamon walked over to the cold water, feeling a rushing sensation through his body as soon as he stepped in. He swam some more meters into the sea before taking a deep dive. A minute later, he resurfaced with a gasp for fresh air and then ended with a satisfying sigh.

Ahhhhhh… oh yeah… this is the life…” he smiled blissfully as he rested on his back; enjoying the soothing waters and letting the waves drift him around randomly and gently. His mood suddenly changed into the better and forgot why he was actually grumpy before. He began to think that he was actually too rude to Joe and his friends and shouldn’t have acted that way.

“Man, I was a real jerk. I wonder what would they say about me now?Gomamon said to himself. “I better apologize to them,” he decided before he saw Tentomon flying over the surface of the sea, like he was looking for someone. That gave Gomamon a mischievous idea. “Hee hee, right after a little innocent prank...” He snickered and dived under the water, disappearing out of sight.

Gomamooon! Where are yooou?! Joe wants you right away! Gomamooon!” Tentomon called out loudly as he was searching for the seal Digimon. He couldn’t find him anywhere and was getting tired buzzing around under the hot sun.

Boy, is it hot!” Tentomon wiped his sweat and stopped in the air to take a little rest, hovering a few inches above the surface of the sea. Little did he know was that Gomamon was right under him, waiting for the right moment to splash up and scare the poor beetle. Tentomon was facing his back to him and was too busy looking around for Gomamon that he didn’t sense him at all, and all the noises around the crowded beach made it even harder for him to suspect anything.

“Where could he be?” Tentomon wondered and was on his same position, when Gomamon came out of the water with a monstrous growl and grabbed Tentomon’s back legs.

Graaaaah! Gomamon imitated a roar and was going pull Tentomon with him down to the water. Needless to say, Tentomon was scared the scales out of him.

AAAAAAAAHH!!! HEEELP! He screamed from the top of his lungs and the next thing he knew, he instinctively preformed his Super Shocker attack. With Gomamon still grabbing Tentomon’s legs and his bottom half still under the water, the electrifying attack caused Gomamon a massive and painful shocking experience.

Y-Y-Y-YEEEOOWWCH!!!Gomamon’s whole body lighted up in high voltage, screaming out in supreme pain. It took Tentomon ten seconds to realize what had happened and finally stopped his special attack. He slowly turned around to look and saw Gomamon floating on the water, totally unconscious and had some electric sparks still coming from his body.

“Oh my gosh! What have I done?!” Tentomon cried fearfully.

******************************************

After rushing him back to shore, Gomamon’s friends immediately gathered around him and tried to nurse the injured Digimon back with great efforts.

“What the heck happened here?” Tai arrived last and asked in wonder.

Gomamon got electrocuted badly by Tentomon!” Palmon promptly blamed.

“I didn’t mean it! Honest!” Tentomon desperately admitted.

“Is he going to make it?” Matt blandly said.

“Will you all shut up?! We have an emergency here!” Mimi snapped at them and they immediately kept silence.

“Come on, Gomamon! Open your eyes! Say something, anything please!” Joe pleaded dearly as he was giving his partner first-aid maneuvers, giving his chest a few pushes to make his heart pump and looking for any signs of life but nothing seemed to do any good.  “DON’T DIE ON ME!” Joe started to cry dramatically.

“Maybe another shock would do it,” Gabumon suggested but was then returned with sharp glares from the others. “Or maybe not…”

“Oh, oh, I know, I know!” Agumon got close to Gomamon and gave him a hard slap on the face, stunning everyone.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?!?” Joe shouted at him.

“Hmmm, that’s strange. It always works when Gatomon wants me to wake up…” Agumon scratched his cheek stupidly.

“Just stop it! You’re all making it worse than it is!” Sora yelled. They all began to quarrel about what they should do to help Gomamon and forgot the actual matter at hand. That is until Gomamon began to move slightly and his eyes were squinting.

“Knock it off you guys, he’s waking up!” Izzy brought to their attention.

Gomamon opened his eyes at last with a soft moan, “Ouhhh… my head… it’s ringing so bad… like an alarm clock stuck inside my head…” He murmured as he came to, his head buzzing agonizingly.

“What do you know? He’s still alive... Oh well, let’s play ball!” Tai shrugged and went back with Matt and their Digimon to continue their volleyball game like they didn’t have a care in the world.

Gomamon, you’re okay! Oh, thank the lord!” Joe carried him up and hugged him tightly.

Oumf! Joe… I can’t breath…!” Gomamon choked out from the tight bear hug. Joe then pulled his partner off himself and stared at him with angry eyes.

“What the matter with you!? You’ve scared us to death! Why did you have to go and do something stupid like that?!” Joe scowled at him and was shaking him roughly.

“I-I-I’m s-s-s-sorry J-J-J-oe!” Gomamon stuttered while being shaken silly.

“Go easy on him, Joe. He just recovered from a serious shock,” Mimi said to calm Joe down before she asked, “Now would someone explain what exactly happened?”

Tentomon stepped in with his head dangled in guilt, “Well, it was my fault. I thought he was some kind of a monster and attacked him with my Super Shocker. I’m sorry Gomamon, I shouldn’t have been so rash,” Tentomon apologized, bobbing his head up and down.

“Ah, no worries, Tentomon. I had it coming for myself. I should have known better than to pull a prank like that on you. I should be the one saying sorry...” Gomamon apologized back after recovering a bit.

“Served you right, so you’d stop your lame pranks. That’ll teach you a good lesson, Gomamon,” Joe lectured and poked him lightly on the head.

Heh, after this electrifying experience, I’ll think twice before pulling another one. At least not near water.” Gomamon chuckled and the rest had a good laugh with him.

“<This is what I like the most about Gomamon. Always cheerful despite the odds>Sora then thought to herself as she giggled.

Aww, thanks Sora.” Gomamon blushed. Sora blinked oddly with the others.

“What did you say, Gomamon?” Izzy asked him.

Gomamon paused a bit. “Uh… I just said, thanks Sora.”

“For what?” Sora wondered.

“Yeah, she didn’t say anything,” Biyomon followed.

“<That’s strange, I could swear I heard her say something…>  Gomamon said to himself. He somehow heard what Sora thought about him being cheerful, even though she didn’t say it out loud. “<Nah, must be because of the shock>“

“Anyhow, I think we better take you to the hospital for some check ups, you might have damaged something in your body,” Joe stated.

“But we just got here! I don’t want be the cause of ruining the trip. I’m alright, really,” Gomamon replied and stood on his flippers, jumping around to prove it. “See? Nothing to it.”

“Are you sure? We don’t mind if we go with you,” Izzy said.

“Positive, let’s just continue having fun in this great beach!” Gomamon cheered and finally convinced them.

“Alright, just be careful not to hurt yourself. Come on, Biyomon.” Sora smiled at him and went back to Tai and Matt with her pink Digimon.

“Let’s join them, Mimi!” Palmon urged her and pulled her by the hands.

“Coming Palmon, I’ll be right there.” Mimi motioned to her to go ahead while she moved closer to Gomamon, giving him a kiss on his forehead. “Get well.” she gave him a wink as he blushed crimson red, covering his face with his flippers.

“<I’m really concerned, is he really fine?>she then wondered in her mind.

“I said I’m okay, so don’t worry about me, Mimi,” Gomamon replied as if her heard what she said to herself. Mimi was a bit stunned, but she didn’t think much of it and just thought he knew how she felt.

“Okay then,” she smiled and went after Palmon.

Hehe, he’s luckier than you, Joe. Maybe you should fake an accident as well and get the girls’ attention.” Izzy then teased his glasses-wearing friend and Tentomon nodded along with him.

Wh-What are you talking about?! Don’t be silly!” Joe coyly retorted and then carried up his Digimon. “Are you really alright? You seem a bit… shaken up.”

“Aw, just stop the paranoia act and let’s just have us a good swim together!”  Gomamon said in optimism and they continued their picnic for the rest of this sunny day.

********************************************

While Joe and his friends were enjoying themselves at the sunny beach, the second generation Digi-Destineds were having a good time of their own, hanging out together at the Odaiba theme park. They were all paired with their Digimon partners, having all kinds of fun. Well, almost all, as the same couldn’t be said to Gatomon, the Digimon of Light. Out of all the Digimon, she was the only one who seemed totally uninterested in any of the entertaining facilities, preferring to sit down on a bench and simply watch the others have all the fun. She felt that she was too mature for this kind of kiddy stuff and that made her feel like she was left out. She let out a long sigh of complete boredom, and she betted that if she received a penny for every time she sighed today, she’d be ten bucks richer by now.

Just then, her partner, Kari, came by and sat next to her on the bench, “Still not feeling well, Gatomon?” she asked the cat-like Digimon.

“A tad…” Gatomon hummed and laid her head on her partner’s lap. “I’m just bored out of my mind here,” she complained, hoping that Kari would get her hint and take her back home.

“How can anyone be bored at a theme park? Sometimes you still puzzle me, Gatomon.” Kari giggled.

“<I can say the same thing about you…>  Gatomon frowned, apparently only to herself. She was about to clearly spell it out to Kari when T.K. and his flying Digimon passed by. “<Oh, just great…>“

“What are you two doing sitting here? You’re missing all the fun,” T.K. stated, with his usual nice attitude.

“Yeah, C’mon Gatomon! Let’s go ride the Merry-Go-Round!” Patamon chirped and landed next to his cat friend

“I don’t feel like it,” Gatomon replied, still lying on Kari’s lap. “<Merry-go-round? This is so childish! Yeesh, I’d like to scream at his face but I fear he’d cry his eyes out in the end. Why does Kari say that we make a perfect couple, I have no idea…>  Patamon was nothing more than a friend to Gatomon, more like a baby brother even. Sure, they’d known each other for what seemed to be a long time and he’s actually very nice, like his partner T.K., but she couldn’t have any further feelings for him beside that, since Patamon sometime is nothing more than a crybaby. He reminds her of how T.K. was when he was a kid, but at least the Digi-Destined of Hope had grown up. Too bad the same thing didn’t happen to his Digimon.

“Come on Gatomon, you can’t just sit here all day,” Kari nagged her.

“That’s exactly how I intend to do,” Gatomon replied. “Go ahead if you want, Kari.”

“Well, we tried. Coming, Kari?” T.K. asked her as he was walking away.

“Right behind you, T.K.,” Kari answered him and got off the bench while Gatomon was still leaning her head on her lap, making her head thud on the bench. “You can join us whenever you feel like, Gatomon!” Kari waved at her as she accompanied T.K.

Ow! <You could at least warn me before getting up like that!>“ griped Gatomon while rubbing her head.

“Are you sure you don’t want to join us, Gatomon? I’d really like you to come,” Patamon said in his squeaky voice, a slight blush on his cutesy face. That turned off Gatomon more than it’s supposed to appeal to her.

“Yes, Patamon, I’m sure. Now just go and knock yourself out,” Gatomon retorted. <God! I hate it when he pulls this cutie-cutie act!>  Patamon finally understood and flew away after Kari and T.K.

Gatomon sighed for the trillionth time and sat up on the bench again, wishing for this day to pass by as fast as possible. But just after Kari and T.K. left to one way, Yolie and Cody came from the other, along with their Digimon of course, after finishing their huge roller coaster ride. “<Swell… more annoyance>“

“Woo! That was some ride, eh Cody?” the purple haired girl spoke in excitement.

“Um, Kinda… I didn’t catch much of the thrill, being short and all. I barely saw a thing,” Cody casually said. Even after two years, he hadn’t grown much taller than he was, maybe only for a few inches.

Ouuuuhhh… is it me… or is the world spinning around? Ugh! I think I’m going to throw up…” Hawkmon wearily muttered, feeling quite dizzy after that crazy ride. He couldn’t even walk or fly, so Yolie had to carry him around in her arms.

Aww, poor baby,” Yolie snuggled her Digimon nicely while he yelped out from getting choked.

“Go easy, Armadillomon! The food isn’t going to run away!” Cody scolded his armored Digimon, who had his mouth full with chilidogs and ice cream he couldn’t even reply. They then happened to see Gatomon sitting alone and went right to her.

“<Oh crap! They saw me! Here we go again… ‘What’s up Gatomon?’ they’re gonna say>Gatomon shook her head.

“What’s up Gatomon?” Yolie inquired as soon as she reached her and bent down to her while still holding Hawkmon.

“<See?> Oh, nothing really. Just sitting here waiting for Kari to come back,” Gatomon answered while stretching her arms.

“You’re lucky, you hadn’t had to go through that hellish ride… Eugh…!” Hawkmon burped.

“<Ewww, he looks really sick, his face is all colored! Can’t Yolie see that? Honestly, for a brave and compassionate Digimon, Hawkmon is way too soft with her. If it weren’t for the fact that I know he has a crush on Biyomon, I’d say he’s in love with his partner>  Gatomon winced to herself. While she liked Hawkmon in some ways, he always followed Yolie around, who’s too hyper and annoying for Gatomon to actually appeal to, and didn’t give much time or attention for his own needs. If he wasn’t this boring, there might be a small chance for her to like him more. But alas, the only reason she felt connected to him was that he was her partner in DNA Digivolution. Other than that…

“Howdy... Gatomonmmmy’want some... ice cream?” Armadillomon greeted her and offered to give her some of his messy ice cream. He was talking while his mouth was still full and spilled some smuts of the ice cream on her face.

“Ugh! No, thank you very much! <Yuck! Would you at least swallow before you open that big mouth of yours!> Gatomon refused, wiping off her face in detest. All that Armadillomon cared about the most was food, and sleeping to some extent, which is the image Gatomon saw him in mostly. He might be cute and all, but that’s not enough for Gatomon to develop any interest in him besides being a friendly comrade. If only he was as mature as Cody was, maybe things would be different between them

Ya don’t? Alrighty then!” Armadillomon said after gobbling. “Here Hawkmon, have ya’self a chilidog!” Armadillomon switched to his feathery friend and neared a chilidog up to his face, and that was enough to make him vomit.

Eeuugh! This is it! I’m gonna BLOW!” Hawkmon groaned grossly and ran away fast while holding himself from puking.

Hawkmon! Wait up!” cried Yolie and went after her Digimon.

“Look at what you did, Armadillomon!” Cody strictly said.

“How should I know that he didn’ like chilidogs? Ah well, more for me!” Armadillomon shrugged and continued to munch on the food like he’s going to be paid for it.

<And to think that I was actually a part of this team…>Gatomon shook her head, sighing again. She got tired of simply sitting all day and decided to get her butt off somewhere else.

“Where are you going, Gatomon?” Cody asked her.

“I’m going to look for Kari,” She quickly replied and disappeared within the mass of people around the park. The place was overly crowded and there was no way she’d find her partner this easily. An idea then crossed her head as she saw a tall tree and dashed right to it, only to bump into someone on her way.

Oumf! Hey! Can’t you see where you walk?!” She hissed crossly before she could even see who it was.

“Oh, I’m terribly sorry, Gatomon,” Wormon immediately apologized. “I was busy looking for Ken that I wasn’t looking ahead of me. I’m very sorry.”

“You got lost?”

“Um, Uh-huh, I can’t find him anywhere! Oooh, I hope he didn’t abandon me because I didn’t have the courage to enter the horror mansion…” Wormon worriedly murmured with a troubled face.

“Don’t be silly. <Geez, could he be anymore pathetic? I haven’t seen a Digimon with less self-respect than Wormon. He’d do anything to please almost anybody. I swear, if Ken told him to jump off a cliff, he’d do it without a second thought>Gatomon sneered, rolling her eyes from the naïve nature of this Digimon. “Alright, I’ll help you look for him.”

“You will!? Oh, thank you, Gatomon! Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Wormon was overjoyed and wanted to hug her so bad that he jumped at her, but she swayed away to the side and avoided his bounce.

“Ok, I got it! Just don’t hug me, or get near me for that matter. <Eugh, no offense, Wormon, but I can’t stand worms>That’s a little secret Gatomon kept absolutely to nobody but herself. She sort of felt guilty about treating him like this, but she couldn’t help it. She just hates worms, so much that it’s like a phobia. She can tolerate Wormon somehow because he’s a nice and kind friend, maybe too much for his own good. But that was understandable; he was the Digimon of Kindness after all. It’s just the fact that he was too much submissive to everybody that bothered her about him, especially to his partner. Even if Ken was no longer the Digimon Emperor, Wormon still treat himself like some kind of a slave, as if he couldn’t get it out of his system yet. That made it hard for her to actually admire him, but she still acted friendly towards him as much as she could, despite her repulsion to worms.

“Just wait here and don’t move, I’ll climb up to the top of that tree and try to locate them.” Gatomon ordered him and he completely obeyed with a happy nod. She directly ran to the tall three and climbed it expertly, reaching the top of it with ease. She walked on one of its branches and started to scan the area to find her partner and Wormon’s as well. “Where could they…”

HEY! Gatomooon!!!” a loud, irritating familiar voice shouted from below and totally overtook Gatomon.

Aaack!” Gatomon shrieked and almost fell off the branch but she balanced herself in time and clutched on it with her front and back paws, hanging upside-down. She looked down to see and discovered who was the owner of that cheesy and annoying voice. “Oh, brother…”

“Hey, babe! What’cha doin’ up there all alone?! Want some company!?” Veemon called again from under the tree, winking to the Digimon of his dreams.

“<Somebody just shoot me…>Gatomon sighed distressfully.

“Cut the crappy talk, Veemon.” Davis snorted and poked his Digimon on his head to make him stop his irritating screeching.

“And I don’t think that she’d find your earsplitting voice very much appealing,” chuckled Ken, who was by Davis’ side.

Argh! What do you know?” whined Veemon. “I’m trying to impress her, if you don’t mind!”

Heh, yeah, sure. With that kind of approach, you’d scare a scarecrow,” Davis laughed, mocking his blue partner.

Keeeeen!” Wormon cried when he finally found his long lost partner.

“There you are, Wormon. Where have you been? I’ve been looking all over for you,” Kem exclaimed as Wormon was petting on his leg happily.

“Well, that solved Wormon’s problem,” Gatomon said while still at the top of the tree. She thought about going down, but one look at Veemon waiting for her below with a wide beam, and she instantly decided otherwise. “<Oh, no, the last thing I want now is putting up with that idiot Veemon! Why can’t he understand that I’m not INTERERSTED!? I oughtta stay up here>Gatomon thought and resolved to better hang up in the tree. Veemon, to her, is nothing but a big clown, like his partner Davis. He always tried to get her attention without a rest and that’s starting to get in her nerves. He is nice, considerate and, dare she say, cute, but with him being a goofball is something she doesn’t find endearing. If he’d at least take things more seriously, then maybe she’d have a change of heart.

“I guess this is a good time for a nice cat nap…” Gatomon yawned a bit, taking a sleeping-cat position on the branch and trying to get herself to sleep to kill some time.

HEY! Gatomon! How about we…” Veemon was about to try again, much to Gatomon’s angst, when…

Argh! Shut the hell up!Gatomon snarled irritably. She found a walnut on the tree and then threw it at him, accurately shoving it into his gaping mouth to silence him and causing him to almost choke to death as Davis rushed to his rescue.

“Thanks for driving us back home, Tai,” Joe gratefully said, sitting on the backseat of Tai's mom car.

“Yeah, but I feel kinda bad for Matt and Gabumon for leaving them behind,” Gomamon followed as he was sitting on Joe's lap.

“Don't worry about it, they can take care of themselves just fine,” Tai replied while looking back at them from the car’s rear mirror.

“And we must make it up for you for not taking you with us the last time,” Izzy said, sitting next to Tai.

“Plus, we couldn't let you take the bus back home after that little accident.” Mimi smiled

“Thanks everyone, but still…” Joe uttered coyly.

“Aw, stop worrying too much, Joe. Besides, Matt is heading to his band for some practice. He's getting ready for the big concert the day after tomorrow,” Sora then stated.

“Oh? What big concert?” Mimi wondered.

“To celebrate the launch of his first album!” Biyomon chirped.

“I told you about it already, Mimi!” Palmon exclaimed.

“Oh yeah, now I remember. But I didn't know it would be after two days. Well then, I better get myself ready for it! I'll go straight to the mall early thing in the morning! Who's coming with me?” Mimi cheerily said and asked anyone to accompany her.

“I'll go, I missed going to the mall with you,” Sora said agreeably.

“Yeah, it will be fun! Like in the old days,” Biyomon said cheerfully.

“Alright then,” Mimi nodded gladly. “What about you boys?

“No can do,” Tai replied.

“Yeah, Tai and I promised Matt that we'll help him in the concert preparations,” Izzy explained.

“So we'll be busy all day,” Tentomon followed.

Awww, That's a shame. <Who will help us, like, carry our shopping bags then?>“ Mimi frowned.

Me and Joe can go!” Gomamon then announced when he heard what Mimi said to herself.

“Really?

“What?! N-No, wait, I can't!” Joe quickly shook his head.

“Why not?” Palmon inquired.

“Uh, I gotta go to the bank in the morning and put in some money for my college semester next year,” Joe explained. “I don't know how long it'll take me, so I'm not sure if I can make it.”

“I see. <Man, if there’s someone who can think of school even in the holidays, it’s Joe>Sora said with a slight head shake.

Hehe, you said it, Sora.” Gomamon chuckled.

“Huh?” the others blinked at Gomamon, confused from what he just uttered.

“Err… what? Why are you all looking at me like that?” Gomamon timidly asked.

“Are you really all right? You're really worrying me,” said Joe as patted his Digimon head and made him lift his head up to face him.

“Uh, yeah, sure! <Man, this is getting so freaky…>Gomamon nodded, but he was starting to get worried himself. He was having the feeling that he was hearing things that others weren't. But he tried to convince himself otherwise and ignored it.

“Anyway, if you do get some free time, Joe, I’d really want you to come with us. Please?” Mimi then pleaded the coy Joe.

“Um, ok…” Joe simply answered.

“Great!” Mimi smiled happily. She then sensed that someone was missing in the car. “Oh my, I don't see Agumon with us! Did we leave him behind?!” she realized the absent of Tai's partner.

“Nah, don't worry. I’ve put him in the car's trunk. He was really bugging me while sitting in my lap the last time, so I locked him there,” Tai told them casually as the others sweatdropped by that, picturing the poor dino Digimon trapped inside that small box all that time.

<And to think he is our leader…sheesh…>“ Gammon rolled his eyes.

To be Continued

Okay, I want to make a confession here. This story was actually supposed to be out for like, what? A year? It’s been rotting in my lemon folder since May 2003. Why have I taken this long to post it up? I just don’t have a freakin’ idea! No matter how much I wanted to continue it, I just didn’t have the time or the right inspiration. I really like this story idea, and I plan to finish it to the end, no matter what it takes me to do so. So help me god. I’ll do my best to finish these unusual antics of Gomamon and Gatomon, among the rest of the gang. ^_^

So, did you like it so far? I’d really like to know for sure. Send any comments to my usual e-mail. Till next time Digi-Believers, have a Goodnight! ^_^
