Chapter 9: Tenujimon, Dragoness of Water!

"Vook? I'm back." Kurtz said as he walked through the door. "Sarah says she's going to the Digital World with Ereth to investigate some more."

"Gotcha." Vook replied, looking down the hall at Kurtz.

"That is really weird though...why would a girl like Karla want to do things like this to the Digital World?" Kurtz said, sitting down on the couch as well, Aqua jumping up into his lap.

"Dunno...I never would've guessed it was her, either." Vook said, shrugging.

"Well, there's got to be someone, or something behind all of this." Kurtz said. "Because there's no way a normal person like her would be able to get into the Digital World, and change personality. She was actually pretty nice."

"Mm hmm...she was." Vook said, nodding. "But you're right, Kurtz. Someone else has to be behind all of this."

"Maybe we should go to the Digital World and investigate too?" Aqua suggested, looking up at Kurtz.

"Yeah...maybe we should." Kurtz said, looking down at Aqua. "But how?"

"Well, maybe we could ask some Digimon if they remember anything?" Aqua suggested.

"Yeah...sounds good." Kurtz replied, picking Aqua up and placing her in his shoulder, standing up and grabbing his Digivice. "Alright, let's go, Vook!"

"Right! C'mon, Gatomon!" Vook said, Gatomon walking out from Vook's room, and snuggling against Vook's side.

"Alright, let's go." Kurtz said, walking into his room with Vook, and opening the Digital Gate program with his computer. "Digital Gate, Open!" He said, placing his Digivice up to the screen, but the gate remained closed. "Huh? What's going on?"

"Here, let me try." Vook said, putting her D-3 up to the screen. "Digital Gate, Open!" she repeated, and the gate opened, transporting her and Kurtz to the Digital World.

"Huh...that's odd. I wonder why it wouldn't open when I tried..." Kurtz said, scratching his head.

Vook shrugged, placing her D-3 back in her pocket. "Maybe it has something to do with Karla."

"Maybe...Anyways, let's get going." he said, and began walking. After a couple minutes of walking, they ran into a Monochromon, who was under the control of an Evil Ring.

"Let's go, Gatomon! Digimental, UP!" Vook said, Digivolving Gatomon into Nefertimon. Nefertimon flew up into the air above the Monochromon, aiming her paws at it.

"Nile Jewelry!" she said, shooting purple lasers from jewels on her paws, and breaking the Evil Ring around Monochromon's back.

"Good work." Kurtz said, grinning at Vook, before walking up to Monochromon. "Are you alright?"

"Uhhn..yeah..." Monochromon answered, shaking his head. "What happened...? I can't remember a thing..."

"The Digimon Kaizer had you under his control." Kurtz said, pointing to the shattered remains of the Evil Ring on the ground. "...using that thing."

"I see..." Monochromon said, shaking his head slightly. "Thanks for saving me."

"No problem. I just have a couple questions." Kurtz said. "First, do you remember anything, Anything at all, before this happened?"

"Uhh...let me think..." Monochromon said, closing his eyes as he thought. "I do remember a weird darkness covering the sky...and a stampede of Digimon...then everything just goes blank up till now."

"Mm hmm..." Kurtz said, nodding. "Anything else you remember?"

"Yeah...I do remember some kid riding atop an Airdramon." the dinosaur said, shivering slightly.

"That must have been her, the Kaizer." Kurtz said, nodding. "Thanks for your time, Monochromon."

"No problem...by the way, are you two...by any chance, the DigiDestined?" Monochromon asked, blinking a couple times.

"Yes, we are." Vook said, smiling at the dinosaur.

"Oh wow! It's an honor to meet you!" Monochromon said, smiling widely.

"Heh, no problem." Kurtz said, chuckling slightly. "We'll be seeing you later, then." he added, turning and starting to walk away.

"Thanks for everything!!" Monochromon said, before walking away as well, smiling happily.

"Hmm...we still need more info...I say we ask another." Kurtz said, looking down at Vook.

"Whatever you say, brother!" Vook said, smiling and nodding, riding on Nefertimon's back.

"Look, there's a couple more!" Kurtz said, pointing to a couple DemiMeramon.

"Ha! Looks easy enough!" Vook said, patting Nefertimon's shoulder, and taking off into the air again.

"Rosetta Stone!" Nefertimon said, shooting a stone tablet at the DemiMeramon, but the two easily dodged.

"Ha Ha! You think you can hit us with that? C'mon boys, let's show them what we can really do!" the first one said, about 5 other DemiMeramon flying in from nearby, and starting to merge together with the first two.

"Oh no...Vook! Get away from them!!" Kurtz shouted, looking up at Vook.

The DemiMeramon all formed together, successfully transforming into a Meramon.

"Now perish!" Meramon said, aiming its arms at Vook and Nefertimon, blasting a long stream of fire at them.

"Whoa! What are they?" Vook asked, as Nefertimon closely dodged the stream of fire.

"It's Meramon. DemiMeramon have the ability to form together like that." Nefertimon answered.

"That's right. Let's go, Aqua!" Kurtz said, taking out his Digivice. "Digimental, Up!"

"AquaVeemon, Armor Shinka!!" Aqua said, Armor Digivolving to Aquarivamon. "Now it's time I put this fire out! TYPHOON!" she said as she jumped into the air, blasting a jet of water at Meramon.

"Ha! You think that can stop me?" Meramon said, shooting a stream of fire at the water, completely turning canceling it out, ending up in a large fog of steam. "Now you will die!" he added, before shooting more fire, this time towards Kurtz, hitting him directly with the hot flames.

"G-goddamnit!!" Kurtz cursed as the flames burned him, singing his clothes off as well.

"KURTZ!!" Aqua screamed, jumping to his side. "Are you alright?!"

Kurtz groaned slightly, shaking his head.

"Nobody does this to my Kurtz..." she said, setting him down on the ground, before standing back up again, glowing brightly, but De-Digivolving back to AquaVeemon. "You monster!"

"Don't worry Kurtz, I've got you!" Vook said, flying down with Nefertimon and jumping off, helping the dragon up as Nefertimon de-Digivolved back into Gatomon again.

"Ahahaha! Looks like you're out of options. Surrender now, and I won't kill you." Meramon said, a smug grin on his face.

"That's what YOU think..." Aqua said, her body glowing brighter as she stepped forward. "AquaVeemon Shinka!!!" she shouted as she started to Digivolve, her entire form getting bigger, and a light brown robe forming over her body. "Tenujimon!"

"What?! How is that possible!?" Meramon said, gulping and taking a step back.

"Nobody harms my dragon!" Aqua shouted, burning with rage. "Engulf!!" she said, a large sphere of water forming over Meramon, then falling down onto him, making all the DemiMeramon split back apart again.

"Wahh!! Run!! She's too powerful!" one said, flying away quickly.

"Oh no you don't, GET BACK HERE!" Aqua said, quickly running after the DemiMeramon, and smashing him hard into the ground, deleting him instantly. "...Who's next?" she said, running back towards the others, who were fleeing as well, and deleted them in the same way as the first.

"Whoa! Look at her go!" Vook said, watching Aqua beat up all the DemiMeramon.

"That will teach you!" Aqua said as she deleted the last one, huffing slightly, and walking over to Vook and Kurtz.

"He seems to be okay, with the exception of his scales..." Vook said, looking at Kurtz.

"I see..." Aqua said, nodding, and stroking Kurtz's head gently. "Let's go back...we need to get him medical attention."

"Hey! Who's over there?" A voice said, Sarah and Ereth plus their Digimon coming from the distance. "Kurtz? Vook? Oh...it's you." Sarah said, sighing in relief. "I thought we were gonna have to fight another Tyranomon."

"Yeah...we were just about to head back." Vook said, looking over towards them.

"Ahh...what the heck happened to Kurtz?" Sarah said, looking at the burnt dragon.

"Meramon." Aqua answered. "He did it, but I deleted him."

"Alright, then let's head back!" Sarah said, and continued walking, the others following behind her.

Once they returned to the real world, Vook got the bottle of burn lotion, and spread it onto Kurtz's burns. "There you go, brother. you'll be feeling better in a couple days or so." she said, before walking away.

"Good thing it's a weekend..." Kurtz said, sighing as he laid on the couch, Aqua sitting next to him. "I still don't know how you managed to Digivolve with those towers up.."

"I don't know how I did it either..." Aqua said, shrugging. "I just got really mad...and bam, I Digivolved."

"I see..." Kurtz said, nodding.

Aqua smiled softly, stroking Kurtz's hair gently, laying back against the couch. "I think, Kurtz...it was really my feelings for you, that triggered it..." she said, blushing a little.

"Oh really?" Kurtz said, looking up at chuckling softly. "That's silly, Aqua...but still, a possible explanation."

Aqua nodded, giggling slightly as well. "Yeah...I guess so..."

Kurtz smiled softly, turning his head towards the TV. "I wonder if that really is what happened...I know now that she does love me..." he thought as he drifted to sleep in a few minutes. Just a little after, the doorbell rang.

"Huh...wonder who that could be." Vook thought as she answered it. "Hello?"

"Hello...are you Vook Dorius?" said a tall female dragon, with golden yellow scales, and light green eyes, looking down at Vook. "I'm Karla's mother. Is she over here?"

Vook shook her head. "Nope, she's not."

"O-Okay...thank you...it's just that...she's gone missing!" the dragoness said, before bursting into tears.

"Oh no! That's horrible!" Vook said, her eyes widening slightly. "Well, maybe after my brother recovers from his wounds, we can help look for her?"

"Th-thanks..." Karla's mother said, sniffling, and smiling a little. "See you later...good luck..." she said as she turned and walked away, wiping her eyes, joining her husband who patted her back gently.

Vook closed the door, and ran back to the couch, nudging Kurtz. "Kurtz! Kurtz! Wake up!!"

"Mhn! Wha! What...what is it, Vook?" Kurtz asked, startled from the sudden waking.

"Karla! She's gone missing!" Vook blurted out, panting slightly.

"What? Missing?" Kurtz said, blinking. "Well, we have to look for her, then...and I've got a feeling that she's gone to the Digital World."

"Yeah, probably, after hearing that we're restoring it." Aqua said, nodding.

"Okay, so first thing after these burns heal, we go to the Digital World." Kurtz said, laying his head back down on the pillow.
